The Community Development Department of the City of Arroyo Grande is partnering with a second year
Graduate class at the California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo (City and Regional
Planning 552 — Community Planning Studio). This class provides an experiential educational opportunity
for future planners in the process of preparing a General Plan. The products and data generated as part
of this learning experience will be utilized by the Community Development Department to: 1) update the
current /Existing Settings Report/ which was written in 1991; 2) provide materials and ideas for an
updated Conservation and Open Space Element of the General Plan; and 3) serve as reference materials
for a full General Plan update which is scheduled for 2011.
