NOTICE OF INTENTION TO VACATE AND ABANDON A PORTION OF EL CAMINO REAL, IN THE
CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE, COUNTY OF SAN LUIS OBISPO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA; FIXING
, TIME AND PLACE OF PUBLIC HEARING.
RESOLUTION NO. 1836
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ARROYO GRANDE SETTING FORTH ITS INTENTION TO VACATE
AND ABANDON A PORTION OF EL CAMINO REAL, IN THE
CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE, AND FIXING TIME AND PLACE
FOR HEARING AS PROVIDED BY GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION
50430, ET SEQ.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande elects to proceed with
the vacation and abandonment of a portion of El Camino Real, pursuant to Section
50437 of the Government Code of the State of California; and
WHEREAS, it appears that said portion of, El Camino Real is unnecessary for
present or prospective public use; and
WHEREAS, 'it appears that the abandonment is for the best interests of the publ ic.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE
that it intends to vacate and abandon the hereinafter described portion of El Camino
Real, in the City of Arroyo Grande, County of San Luis Obispo, State of California.
For this purpose, the City Council will hold a Public Hearing in connection with
said intention to vacate and abandon the hereinafter described portion of EI Camino
Real, which hearing will be held in the Council Chambers, 215 East Branch Street,
Arroyo Grande, on the 9th day of Apri I 1985, at the hour of 8:00 P.M. At said
time and place, those persons interested in or objecting to the proposed vacation
and abandonment may appear and be heard.
~E IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of Arroyo Grande be,
and is herewith directed to cause to be posted along said portion of El Camino Real
at intervals not to exceed three hundred feet (300') in distance apart and at least
three (3) in number on said road, notices of passage of Resolution, which said
notices shall be entitled "NOTICE OF INTENTION TO VACATE AND ABANDON A PORTION OF
EL CAMINO REAL, IN THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE, COUNTY OF SAN LUIS OBISPO, STATE OF
CALIFORNIA".
In addition thereto, the City Clerk is herewith ordered and directed to cause
a copy of said Resolution to be published at least two successive weeks prior to
the hearing in a newspaper of general circulation within the City, which publication
shall be at least ten (10) days prior to the date of said hearing.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the portion of El Camino Real, which the City of
Arroyo Grande proposes to vacate and abandon, is more particularly described as
fo 11 ows :
All that portion of Lots 14 and 18 of Block 6 of the Western Addition
to the Town of Arroyo Grande, in the City of Arroyo Grande, County of
San Luis Obispo, State of California, according to the map thereof
filed in Book B at Page 10 of Maps, in the office of the County
Recorder of said County, described as follows:
Beginning at the most Easterly corner of said Block 6, being also the
intersection of the Southwesterly right of way line of Barnett Street
and Northwesterly right of way I ine of Cornwall Avenue;
Thence along the Northeasterly line of said Block 6 North 23005' 00"
West 84.64 feet to a point;
Thence at right angles South 660 55' 00" West 3.50 feet to a point
on a curve from which the radius point therefor bears South 660 55' DO"
West 133.50 feet distant;
Thence Northwesterly along said curve concave Southwesterly with a
radius of 133.50 feet through a central angle of 320 17' 36" an arc
distance of 75.24 feet to a point on the Southerly right of way line

of the California State Highway (now EI Camino Real) as described
in the deed recorded in Book 108 at Page 451 of Official Records
in said County Recorder's Office, which is the TRUE POINT OF
BEGINNING;
Thence continuing Northwesterly along said curve with a radius of
133.50 feet through a central angle of 170 33' 27" an arc distance
of 40.91 feet to a point on the Easterly line of the Abandonment
described in the document recorded in Book 2415 at Page 377 of
Official Records in said County Recorder's office from which the
South corner thereof bears South 40 17' II" East 12.09 feet distant;
Thence along said Easterly I ine South 40 17' II" East 12.09 feet to
the South corner of said Abandonment, being a point on a curve from
which the radius point therefor bears North 90 28' 07" East 2550.00
feet distant, being also on the Southerly right of way line of said
State Highway;
Thence Easterly along said right of way line and curve concave
Northerly "lith a radius of 2550.00 feet through a central angle of
00 48' 50" an arc distance of 36.22 feet to the True Point of
Beginning, containing 257 square feet.
The bearings and distances used herein are based on the dimensions
shown on the Record of Survey Map filed in Book 43 at Page 56 of
Licensed Surveys in said County Recorder's Office.
Further particulars as to the proposed vacation and abandonment are shown on
the map pertaining thereto on file in the Office of the City Clerk of the City of
Arroyo Grande, California.
On motion of COLlnci I Member Gallaglie"seconded by Counci I Member Moots,
and on the following roll call vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Gallagher, Johnson, Moots, Porter and Mayor Smith.

the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted this 12th day of March 1985.
