LEXIPOL POLICY REVISION
Policy revision implemented on August 15, 2020 to reflect AB 392, SB 230 and GC 7286
All polices of high liability areas will be continually examined.
Policy 300.2.1 Duty to intercede and report – Language changed from “should report” to “shall promptly report.”
Policy 300.4 Revision of deadly force policy to reflect AB392. Language changed so that an officer may only use deadly force when necessary to defend human life.
Policy 300.3.4 Suspension of the carotid restraint.

This is an overview of the topics, tactics and techniques that officers are trained and evaluated on yearly in the Arroyo Grande Police Department’s Firearms Training Program. While
this is not inclusive or standard, to allow for flexibility should the need arise, it is representative of the department’s yearly training.
Every year, officers train for approximately twenty two (22) hours
Three 6-hour classes, one 4-hour class, two in low light
Systems
Handgun
Patrol rifle
Less-lethal weapons
Simunitions (simulated firearms utilizing a paint projectile)
