RESOLUTI ON NO. 1557
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY'
OF ARROYO GRANDE SETTING FORTH ITS INTENTION
TO VACATE AND ABANDON A PORTION OF WEST BRANCH
STREET, IN THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE, AND FIXING
TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING AS PROVIDED BY
GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 50~30, ET SEQ.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande elects to
proceed with the vacation and abandonment of a portion of West Branch
Street, pursuant to Section 50437 of the Government Code of the State of
Ca 11 forn i a; and
WHEREAS, it appears that said portion of West Branch Street Is
unnecessary for present or prospective public use; and
WHEREAS, it appears that the abandonment Is for the best interests
of the pub! ic.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ARROYO GRANDE that it intends to vacate and abandon the hereinafter described
portion of West Branch Street, in the City of Arroyo Grande, County of
San Luis Obispo, State of California. For this purpose, the City Council
will hold a public hearing in connection with said Intention to vacate and
abandon the hereinafter described portion of West Branch Street, which
hearing will be held in the Council Chambers, 215 East Branch Street, Arroyo
Grande, California on the 2~th day of August, 1982 at the hour of 8:00 P.M.
At said time, those persons Interested In or objecting to the proposed
vacation and abandonment may appear and be heard.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of Arroyo
Grande be, and is herewith directed to cause to be posted along said portion
of West Branch Street at intervals not to exceed three hundred feet (300')
in distance apart and at least three (3) In number on said road, notices of
passage of Resolution, which said notices shall be entitled "NOTICE OF INTENTION
TO VACATE AND ABANDON A PORTION OF WEST BRANCH STREET, IN THE CITY OF ARROYO
GRANDE, COUNTY OF SAN LU I S DB I SPO, STATE OF CALI FDRN tA".
In addition thereto, the City Clerk is herewith ordered and directed
to cause a copy of said Resolution to be published at least two successive
weeks prior to the hearing In the Five Cities Tlmes-Press-Recorder, a semi-
weekly newspaper published and circulated In the City of Arroyo Grande,
which publication shall be at least ten (10) days prior to the date of
said hearing.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the portion of West Branch Street, which
the City of Arroyo Grande proposes to vacate and abandon, Is more particularly
described as follows:
Parcel I: A portion of West Branch Street adjacent to Parcel A
of Parcel Map No. AG 81-108, in the City of Arroyo Grande,
San Luis Obispo County, California, as recorded In Book 30
of Parcel Maps, at Page 94, Official Records of said County,
more particularly described as follows:
Commencing at the southwest corner of said Lot A, said corner
being also on the northerly right-of-way line of West Branch
Street; thence South 640 54' 29" east, along said right-of-way
line, being also the southerly line of said Lot A, a distance of
71.83 feet to the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING; thence continuing
along said right-of-way line and said southerly line, south
670 15' 22" east, a distance of 106.46 feet; thence continuing
along said right-of-way line and said southerly line,

south 590 25' 30" east, a distance of 45.65 feet: thence north
640 54'29" west, along a line parallel to and distant 31.00
feet northerly from the centerline of West Branch Street a
distance of 151.81 feet to the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING.
Containing 331 square feet. Excluding existing rights-of-way
for utilities, sewers, street trees and/or drainage.
Parcel 2: A portIon of West Branch Street adjacent to Parcel B
of Parcel Map No. AG 79-268, In the City of Arroyo Grande,
San Luis Obispo County, California, as recorded In Book 30
of Parcel Haps, at Page II, Official Records of said County,
more particularly described as follows:
Commencing at the most westerly corner of said Parcel B, said
corner being also a point on a curve, concave to t.he northeast,
with a radius of 957.00 feet, radial to said point bears north
210 28' 53" east: thence southeasterly along said curve, being
also the southerly line of said Parcel B and the northerly
right-of-way line of West Branch Street, through a central
angle of 010 01' 22" and an arc length of 17.08 feet to a point
of tangency; said point of tangency beIng also the TRUE POINT
OF BEGINNING; thence contInuing along said southerly line and
said northerly right-of-way line, south 75022' 52" east, a distance
of 299.18 feet to the westerly terminus of a curve, concave
to the northwest, with a radius of 25.00 feet; thence continuing
along said southerly line and said northerly right-of-way line,
easterly and northeasterly along said curve, through a central
angle of 920 57' 00" and an arc length of 40.56 feet to a point
of cusp; thence south 110 40' 08" west, along said southerly
projection of the easterly line of said Parcel B, running parallel
to and 30.00 feet distant westerly from the centerline of
camino Mercado, a distance of 1.62 feet to the northeasterly
terminus of a curve, concave to the northwest, wIth a radius of
25.00 feet: thence southwesterly along said curve, through a
central angle of 910 57' 40" and an arc length of 40.13 feet
to a point of tangency; thence north 760 22' 12" west, along a
line parallel to and 31.00 feet distant from the centerline of
West Branch Street, a distance of 185.83 feet to the easterly
terminus of a curve, concave to the northeast, with a radius of
957.00 feet; thence continuing along said parallel line, northwesterly
along said curve, through a central angle of 06049' 43", and an
arc length of 114.06 feet to the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING.
Containing 1044 square feet. Excluding existing rights-of-way
for utilities, sewers, street trees and/or drainage.
Further particulars as to the proposed vacation and abandonment are shown
on the map pertaining thereto on file in the office of the City Clerk
of the City of Arroyo Grande.
On motion of Council Member Millis, seconded by Council Member
Gallagher, and on the following roll call vote, to wit:
