RESOLUTI ON NO. 1541
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL O~ THE CITY
OF ARROYO GRANDE WITHDRAWING FROM MEMBERSHIP
IN THE CENTRAL COAST REGIONAL CRIMINAL JUSTICE
PLANNING BOARD AS OF JUNE 30, 1982
WHEREAS, the City of Arroyo Grande is a member of the Central
Coast Regional Criminal Justice Planning Board, which constitutes several
incorporated cities within the counties of San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara;
and
WHEREAS, the Central Coast Regional CrTmlnaT Justice Board, at
its meeting on February 18, 1982, voted to close down the Region P Office
of the Criminal Justice Planning Board on June 30, 1982; and
WHEREAS, this action was necessitated primarily by the elimination
of the Federal Law Enforcement Assistance Administration with Its funding
allocations, and the increasingly severe constraints on local resources
to continue comprehensive'crimlnal Justice planning at the regional 1 eve 1 .
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
That the City of Arroyo Grande hereby withdraws from membership
in the Central Coast Regional Criminal Justice Planning Board as of June 30,
1982, while vesting authority in the Board Chairman, Director and Fiscal
Officer to perform the tasks necessary to pay and perform outstanding
obligations, close the books and return any remaining funds to the State
Office of Criminal Justice Planning.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that although the Joint Powers Agreement
contains a clause referring to jurisdictional withdrawal within 90 days
notice to the Board Secretary, the City Council certifies the mutual
consent to the special circumstance of the June 30, 1982 disbanding of
the entire Agreement by all parties.
On motion of Council Member Vandeveer, seconded by Council Member
Hogan, and on the following roll call vote, to wit:
