RESOLUTION NO. 1538
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ARROYO GRANDE SETTING FORTH ITS INTENTION
TO VACATE AND ABANDON A PORTION OF EL CAMINO REAL,
IN THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE, AND FIXING TIME
AND PLACE FOR HEARING AS PROVIDED BY GOVERNMENT
CODE SECTION 50430, ET SEQ.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande elects to
proceed with the vacation and abandonment of a portion of EI Camino Real,
pursuant to Section 50437 of the Government Code of the State of California:
and
WHEREAS, It appears that said portion of EI Camino Real Is unnecessary
for present or prospective public use; and
WHEREAS, It appears that the abandonment is for the best interests
of the public.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ARROYO GRANDE that it Intends to vacate and abandon the hereinafter described
portion' of EJ Camino Real, In the City of Arroyo Grande, County of San Luis
Obispo, State of California. For this purpose, the Ci ty Council w.i 11 hold
a public hearing in connection with said intention to vacate and abandon
the hereinafter described portion of El Camino Real, which hearing will be
held in the Council Chambers, 215 East Branch Street, Arroyo Grande, California
on the 22nd day of June, 1982 at the hour of 8:00 P.M. At said time, those
persons interested in or objecting to the proposed vacation and abandonment
may appear and be heard.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the CIty Clerk of the City of Arroyo
Grande be, and is herewith directed to cause to be posted along said portion
of EI Camino Real at intervals not to exceed three hundred feet (300') in
distance apart and at least three (3) in number on said road, notices of
passage of Resolution, which said notices shall be entitled "NOTICE OF INTENTION
TO VACATE AND ABANDON A PORTION OF EL CAMINO REAL, IN THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE,
COUNTY OF SAN LUIS OBISPO, STATE OF CALIFORNIN'.
In addition thereto, the City Clerk is herewith ordered and directed
.to cause a copy of said Resolution to be published at least two successive
weeks prior to the hearing in the Five Cities Times-Press-Recorder, a semi-
weekly newspaper published and circulated in the City of Arroyo Grande, which
publication shall be at least ten (10) days prior to the date of said hearing.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the portion of El Camino Real, which the
City of Arroyo Grande proposes to vacate and abandon, is more particularly
described as follows:
That portion of Block 6, Walnut Avenue (now Bennett Avenue) and
Branch Street (now El Camino Real) of the Western Addition to the
Town of Arroyo Grande, in the City of Arroyo G.rande, County of
San Luis Obispo, California~ according to the map thereof filed
for record April 10, 1894, in Book B of Maps, Page 10, described
as follows: .
Beginning at the northerly corner common to Lots 24 and 25 of said
Block 6; thence, along the prolongation of the line between said
Lots 24 and 25, N. 230 05' O~' W. 9.53 feet; thence, N. 57001' 18"
E. 25.01 feet to the beginning of a curve concave to the south with
a radius of 19.00 feet; thence, along said curbe, through an angle
of 470 42' 42" a distance of 15.82 feet; thence,

s. 750 161 00" E. 20 1 . 96 fee t ; thence, S. 40 17' 11" E. 12.21
feet to the point of intersection of the southeasterly line of
lot 18 of said Block 6 with the southwesterly line of Relinquishment
described in the deed to the State of California recorded in
Book 863 of Official Records at Page 131; thence, northwesterly
along said relinquishment line 218.40 feet to the intersection
with the northwesterly line of said Block 6; thence, along
said Block line S. 660 51' 0&' W. 16.32 feet to the point of
beginning; containing 4229 square feet, more or less.
Further particulars as to the proposed vacation and abandonment are shown
on the map pertaining thereto on file in the office of the City Clerk of
the City of Arroyo Grande.
On motion of Council Member Gallagher, seconded by Council Member
Hogan, and on the following roll call vote, to wit:
