RESOLUTION NO. 1487
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ARROYO GRANDE ORDERING THE ABANDONMENT OF
A SECTION OF PACIFIC COAST RAILWAY PLACE
(STREETS AND HIGHWAYS CODE SECTION 8323, ET SEQ.)
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande has
elected to proceed under provisions of Streets and Highways Code Section 8321,
et seq., and in accordance with the provisions thereof, by resolution,
the Arroyo Grande City Council set the time and place for public hearing I
of protests for the vacation of said City street at 8:00 P.M.,
July 14, 1981, in the Arroyo Grande City Council Chambers; and
WHEREAS. the City Council has found, on the basis of evidence
produced at the public hearing, that the hereinafter' described public
street is unnecessary for present or future public street purposes;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the hereinafter described
Arroyo Grande City Street be abandoned and it is so ordered.
That portion of Railroad Street as delineated on the map
of Walnut Grove Addition, City of Arroyo Grande, County
of Sanluis Obispo, State of California, filed for record
in Book 1 of Licensed S':frveyor I s Map at page 104, records'
of sa i d County, descr i bed as follows:
Beginning at an iron pipe set in the most westerly
corner of Lot 7, Block 3 of said Walnut Grove Addition
according to a Record of Survey Map filed for record
in Book 14 of Licensed Surveyor's Map at page 63,
records of said County; thence South 570 30' West 19.44
feet toa point in a non-tangent curve concave to the
east having a radius of 475.00 feet; a radial 1 i ne
of said curve through said point bearing South
720 39' 5~' West; thence southerly along the arc
of curve through a central angle of 130 12' 38"
an arc distance of 109.52 feet to a point on the
westerly line of said Lot 7 (a radial line through
said point bearing South 590 27' 21" West); thence
northerly along the said westerly line of said Lot 7
to the point of beginning.
On motion of Council Member Vandeveer, seconded by Council Member
Smith, and on the following roll call vote, to wit:

RESOLUTION NO. 1486
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ARROYO GRANDE REQUESTING AUTHORIZATION TO
CLOSE A CITY STREET
WHEREAS, the Harvest: Festival Parade Committee of the City. of
Arroyo Grande has requested closure of a portion of Branch Street
(Highway 227) in the City of Arroyo Grande, State of California, for a
short period of time; and
r WHEREAS, the purpose of the, closure will be for purposes of
conducting an annual parade in conjunction with the Arroyo Grande Vatley
Gay Nineties Harvest'Festival activities, with said parade to
be held between 9:30 A.M. and 11:00 noon on Saturday, September 26, 1981;
and

WHEREAS, the Arroyo Grande Police Department will arrange for
signing, detouring of traffic and all traffic control during the period
of time that said street is requested for closure.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE
HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
1. That request be made'of the State of California DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION for permission to close a portion of Branch Street, also
known as Highway 227, from U.S. Highway 101 to Stanley Avenue, on the
26th day of September, 1981, between the hours of 7:00 A.M. and 1:00 P.M.
2. That the City Council authorizes closure of said street upon
receipt of approval from the State DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION .to said
closure.
On motion of Council Member' Vandeveer, seconded by Council Member
Millis, and on the following roll call vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Smith, Hogan, Millis, Vandeveer, Mayor Pope
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
