ARROYO GRANDE PLANNING COMMISSION
MAY 5, 1992
The Arroyo Grande Planning Commission met in regular session with Chairman Brandy presiding.
Present are Commissioner Souza, Groves, Soto, Carr, and Moore. Commissioner Boggess is absent.
Planning Director Doreen Liberto - Blanck and Current Planner Scott Spierling are also in attendance.

NON - PUBLIC HEARING - TIME EXTENSION TENTATIVE TRACT 1915, 1048 FAIR OAKS
AVENUE, APPLIED FOR BY FRED BAUR
Current Planner Scott Spierling reviewed the staff report dated May 5, 1992. He stated that the Staff
Advisory Committee recommend that the Planning Commission approve a one year time extension for
Tract 1915 subject to the finding attached to the staff report and all the original conditions of approval;
the approval of extension may be made by minute motion.
After a brief discussion, on minute motion by Commissioner Carr to grant a one year time extension for
Tract 1915, seconded by Commissioner Groves, and unanimously carried.
LONG RANGE PLANNING
Commissioner Groves spoke on information she had researched in regards to local government housing
policies, senior housing /first time home buyers, and entities that can assist.
Kirby Gordon, 401 Indio Drive, Pismo Beach, briefed the Planning Commission on a proposed project
for low and moderate senior housing, and asked for consideration to go forward. He spoke in favor of
having the City and Planning Commission working together with developers on affordable housing
projects.
Haythem Dawlett, representing the property owner in back of the Arroyo Grande High School, spoke
in favor of affordable housing projects.
The Planning Commission requested that staff return to the next meeting to discuss available grants,
agencies providing assistance for housing, and information regarding the Housing Element.
Commissioner Soto and Commissioner Souza spoke on economic development. The Commission was
informed that the next meeting of the Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Committee will
be on May 28, 1992 at 3:30 p.m.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business before the Commission, the meeting was adjourned at 9:30 p.m. on
motion by Commissioner Souza, seconded by Commissioner Soto, and unanimously carried.
