TENTATIVE MAP - TRACT #541 "CORBETT PARK. ". Director Gallop advised that with regard to Tract 541, there have been a couple of minor changes in the plan and, also staff reconsideration of the status of the street and, therefore, the staff has asked that this matter be held over to the next regular meeting. He explained the main reason for this was the fact that the City has never adopted or approved a private road and, after staff discussion, it was decided they would prefer this to be a public road with a lesser improvement standard than would normally be required on a public street. COUNCIL REFERRAL'—AGRICULTURAL PRESERVE PROGRAM Director Gallop advised that several property owners in the City who have agricultural lands have petitioned the City to consider the Agricultural Preserve Program under the Williamson Act. He further advised that the City has been investigating ways that this program can be implemented. He pointed out that the main idea is to try to get a reduced tax base on agricultural lands in the hopes that these lands will stay in agricultural use. The staff is investigating the methods of implementing the Williamson Act within the City as to whether it is possible to work under the County, or whether the City will have to administer the program.
