Cc: Community Development Director 1 Andrew Perez From:pc publiccomment To:public comment Subject:RE: Concerns involving Construction of Assisted Living Facility at 207 Pilgrim Way ‐‐‐‐‐Original Message‐‐‐‐‐  From: Eleanor Palmer   Sent: Tuesday, June 16, 2020 11:41 AM  To: public comment <publiccomment@arroyogrande.org>  Subject: Concerns involving Construction of Assisted Living Facility at 207 Pilgrim Way    We are home owners at  Arroyo Grande and have a few concerns and questions involving the possible  construction of a new Assisted Living Facility at 207 Pilgrim Way.  They are:    Question:  Is this new facility replacing the current occupants (Lifepoint Church), or this building to be raised and a new  facility built In its place or added near the church on the same lot.    One of our concerns is the added traffic brought on by the new planned facility. Orchard street and the adjoining street,  Pilgram Way, which already experiences a heavy flow of traffic during the nearby high school time schedules through  out the day, along with the Cuesta College facility and their time schedules, and various Lucia Mar Unified School District  offices and warehouse, located on Orchard street.     I recently discovered in a claim I submitted, ID #5638 dated May 27, 2020, and on an appeal I submitted dated June 3,  2020, with the Neighborhood Services (Code Enforcement), of parking violation concerns on Pilgrim Way, that the City of Arroyo Grande were not issuing parking permits, required by the currently legal posted Parking Permit signs located on  Pilgrim Way and Orchard Street, and would only be enforcing the 72 hour parking requirements code instead, regardless  of posted signs.  In the past, the Parking Permit enforcement had been a tremendous help in keeping parking congestion  under control, and wish the ordinance would have been kept in place to maintain a quiet neighborhood we live on.  So  for this fact, we feel, adding this facility would only increase the traffic flow and enhance parking violation issues on  Pilgrim Street and Orchard Street unless permit parking signs remain and codes enforced on these streets.    Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to submit our comments and concerns to the Planning Commission in regards  to the plans submitted for the construction of an Assisted Living Facility at 207 Pilgrim Way.    John and Eleanor Palmer        Sent from my iPad
