RESO�UTBON OF THE PLANN9NG COMMiSSION OF THE CITY OF
ARROYO GRANDE GRANTBNG A VARIANCE, CASE N0. 67-44
The Planning Commission finds that the Variance applied for by Federal
Sign and Signal Corporation at 495 Grand Avenue meets the requirements of the
Arroyo Grande Municipal Code as amended, to allow for free standing sign to
exceed the regulated height by ten (10) feet on the following described
property;
In the City of A rroyo Grand�, County of San Luis
Obispo, State of California, a portion of Lot 105
of the Rancho Corral de Piedra, Pismo and Bolsa
de Chamisal
(a) in that it does not constit�te a grant of special privilege inconsistent
with l�mitarions �spon other properties in the vicinity and same zoning in
w:hi.ch t:} property is located, and (b) that because there are special circum-
stance� app�icab�e to the property (size-shape-topography-location-surround-
ings) the strict app�ication of the Zoning Ordinance does deprive applicant's
property of privileges enjoyed by other properties in the vicinity and in the
s�ame zor�ing cl��s�fication, and grants said Variance subject to the following
condition��:
la Sign to be interior illuminated, non-flashing and non-rotating
2a E:lectrical service to be underground
For the following reasons:
l. The additiona1 10' is necessary for freeway identification equal
to identification of other service stations in the same area.
2, Would not create adverse conditions on abutting properties
On motion of Commissioner Smith, seconded by Commissioner Strother,
and by the following r.oll call vote,to-wit;
