RESOLUTION N0. 67-66 V
Sign and Signal Corporation for Bank of America at 102 W. Branch St. meets
the requirements of the Arroyo Grande Municipal Code as amended, to allow
for the erection of a sign on top of the Bank of America building which.
would exceed the height limits of the Central Business District require-
ments by 9 feet, on the following described property: In the Buena Vista
Tract - Lot 16,
The Planning Commission finds that the Variance applied for by Federal
(a) in that it does not constitute a grant of special privilege in-
consistent with limitations upon other properties in the vicinity nnd
same zoning in which this property is located, and (b) that because there
are special circumstances applicable to the property (siz�-;shape._topo-
graphy-location-surroundings) the strict application of the Zoning Ordi-
nance doe� deprive applicant's property of privileges enjoyed by other
properties in the vicinity and in the same zoning classification, and
grants said Variance subject to the following condition:
That at such time as the existing arcade structure on the.north--
east corner of Branch and Nevada Streets which is the basis of hardship
was removed or altered so that a conforming sign would be visibTe, the
sign for which variance.was requested be made to conform six:months after
the abatement of said arcade structure.
FOR THE FOLLOWING REASON:
� Variance�granted based upon the determination of a hardship created
by�the existence of an nrcade structure over the public sidewalk immedia-
tely east and across Mevada Street from the subject property.
