PC R 05-1958RESOLUTION NO. 05-1958 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE DENYING VARIANCE 05-002; 684 PASEO STREET; APPLIED FOR BY TOM RILEY WHEREAS, the applicant has filed Variance 05-002 to deviate from the required front yard setback for a single-family home in the Single-Family (SF) zoning district at 684 Paseo Street; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Arroyo Grande has considered Variance 05-002 at a public hearing on March 15, 2005 in accordance with the Development Code of the City of Arroyo Grande; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has found that this project is consistent with the City's General Plan, Development Code and the environmental documents associated therewith, and has determined that the project is categorically exempt under the provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA); and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission finds, after due study, deliberation and public hearing, the following finding cannot be made in an affirmative manner: 1. The granting of the requested variance will not result in the parking of vehicles on public streets in such a manner as to interfere with the free flow of traffic. The granting of the requested variance will result in a driveway length of only ten (10) feet. If larger vehicles were to park in the driveway, they would project out into the sidewalk and beyond, potentially interfering with the free flow of traffic. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission of the City of Arroyo Grande hereby denies Variance 05-002, with the above finding and subject to the conditions as set forth in Exhibit "A", attached hereto and incorporated herein by this reference. On motion by Commissioner Keen, seconded by Commissioner Parker, and by the following roll call vote, to wit: AYES: Commissioners Keen, Parker, Fellows, Tait and Chair Brown NOES: None ABSENT: None the foregoing Resolution was adopted this 5` day of April, 2005.
