I am attaching my letter with the revised number. No matter it it's too late to pass this on, but this represents over 10% of our resident population, which is significant in my mind. Thank you, Garry March 11, 2025 TO: Arroyo Grande City Council and City Staff FROM: Garry Schmidt, Resident of the Sunrise Terrace community REGARDING: Low Income Reduced Garbage Rate At the City Council meeting on February 25, 2025, I addressed the gathering with comments on two matters. The first was that low hanging branches obscure a stop sign at Mason and Nelson while driving north on Mason. These branches have now been trimmed back and the stop sign is very visible. THANK YOU The second matter was the low income reduced garbage rate that is part of the “enhanced” service package that was agreed to when the recent rate increase was approved on January 14. I have been informed by Waste Connections that it is the duty of the City of Arroyo Grande to provide them with the addresses of those who qualify for this reduced rate. I have still not heard from the Staff about how this will be processed. Is the Staff working on this? Is there a plan? Is it the City’s duty to actually do this. I am writing on behalf of over thirty (30) residents in Sunrise Terrace who do not have the capacity to advocate for themselves or are not aware of this benefit. Please let us know how this is being worked out. Thank you, Garry Schmidt
