THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE APPROVING PLANNED
SIGN PROGRAM NO. 11-002, APPLIED FOR BY RANDY

AT 214 EAST BRANCH STREET (HISTORIC CITY HALL
COMPLEX)
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Arroyo Grande has considered
Planned Sign Program No. 11-002, filed by Randy Steiger of Remax Del Oro for property
located at 214 West Branch Street; and
.WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Arroyo Grande has held a public
hearing on Planned Sign Program No. 11-002 in accordance with the City Code; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed this project under the provisions of
the �California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and has determined that the project is
categorically exempt under Section 15311 of the CEQA guidelines; and
� � . .WHEREAS, the �Planning Commission finds, after due study, deliberation and public ,
� hearing that the following circumstances exist: � �
1. The proposed signage is consistent with the goals, objectives, policies and �
programs of the Arroyo Grande general plan, specific plan, and any
� � applicable design guidelines or approvals and has been reviewed by the
Architectural Review Committee and Historic Resource Committee and was
found to be consistent with section 16.60 of the Development Code; and
I 2. The proposed signage conforms to applicable development standards and
. provisions of Municipal Code and will not be detrimental to the public health, '
safety and welfare; and
3. The physical location or placement of the signage is compatible with the
surrounding neighborhood and does not pose a safety risk.
NOW, .THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission of the City of
Arroyo Grande hereby approves Planned Sign Program No. 11-002, with the above
� findings and subject to the conditions as set forth in Exhibit "A", attached hereto and �
incorporated herein by this reference.
On motion by Commissioner Barneich, seconded by Commissioner Martin and by the
following roll call vote, to wit:

1. The applicant shall ascertain and comply with all Federal, State, County and City

No. 11-002.

� 8. The second tenant shall have a sign panel space on the proposed monument ;
sign and one (1) wall sign over the front entrance of the space. The wall sign
shall be situated over the door and have similar size restrictions, style and mass
� of the primary tenant. The second tenant shall apply for an Administrative Sign �
� Permit at a later date.
. 9.. All UL listing labels shall be located on the top of the sign so that if is not visible �

10.The applicant shall agree to defend at his/her sole expense any action brought
. . � � � �against the City, its present or former agents, officers, or�employees because of the
� � . �issuance of said approval, or in any way relating to the implementation thereof, or in �
� � � , the alternative, to relinquish such approval. The applicant shall reimburse the City,
. �its agents, ofFcers, or employees, for any court costs and attomey's fee's which the
.City, its agents, officers or employees may be required by a court to pay as a result
� of such action. The City may, at its sole discretion, participate at its own expense in
the defense of any such action but such participation shall not relieve applicant of
his/her obligations under this condition. �
Buildinq Division
11.The project shall comply with the most recent editions of the Califomia State Fire -�-
and Building Codes and the Uniform Building and Fire Codes as adopted by the
City of Arroyo Grande.
12.Building and/or electrical permits shall be required for all signs prior to their
installation. Certain types of signs may be exempt from building permits. To
determine which types are exempt, provide the Building Division with location and
type of sign and a determination will be made. This must be done prior to the �
installation of the sign. If a building permit is required the applicant shall pay permit
� fees in effect at the time of building permit issuance.
� 13.All electrical� work done on site shall require an electrical permit prior to
commencing the work.
