HONORARY PROCLAMATION
CELEBRATING THE loom ANNIVERSARY OF
KIWANIS INTERNATIONAL AND RECOGNIZING THE
ARROYO GRANDE VALLEY KIWANIS CLUB FOR ITS SERVICE
WHEREAS, Kiwanis International is one of the largest service organizations in the world with more ~han
600,000 members, of all ages and abilities in more than 80 nations; and ·
WHEREAS, the members of Kiwanis Club of Arroyo Grande Valley are devoted to improving tlie world,
one child and one community at a time; and
WHEREAS, in addition to improving lives, Kiwanis members promote the development of community
leaders, positive role models, intercultural understanding and cooperation, and opportunities for
fellowship, personal growth, professional development and community service; and
WHEREAS, the first Kiwanis Club started its service in Detroit, Michigan, USA, in 1915 and Kiwanis
International celebrates the Centennial Anniversary of its founding; and
WHEREAS, the ,service provided by the Kiwanis Club of Arroyo Grande Valley will continue to have a
positive impact on our community and citizens.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that I, Jiin Hill, Mayor of the City of Arroyo Grande, on behalf
of the City Council, do hereby recognize and celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Kiwanis International and
encourage the citizens of Arroyo Grande to render support to the members of this organization and to
make themselves aware of Kiwanis International, whose members are providing meaningful service to our
homes, schools and community.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal
of the City of Arroyo Grande to be affixed this 27th day of January, 2015.
