Subject: Brisco Ramps Closure -Further Extension
Honorable City Council Members:
This communication is inTegard to the Brisco agenda item (11.a) to be discussed at the February
23rd City Council Meeting. I ani writing on behalf of the Royal.Oaks Stakeholders. As Council
is aware, we ·are directly affected by any changes to the Brisco/Highway 101 Freeway"
interchange.
We continue to get positive comments on the temporary closures of the freeway access ramps at
Brisco. We strongly support keeping theramps closed until there is a final decision for:the
Brisco project. Based on comments we have heard from others not in our immediate area, there
is a lot of support citywide to keeping the ramps closed.
We are encouraged that staff is recommending continuing discussions with Cal trans regarding a·
further extension ofthe temporary closure beyond July 11, 2016. With an extension of the
closure until a decision is made on the Brisco Project, we can be assured of smooth traffic flow
at the Brisco intersection, and avoid unnecessary changes, delays, and confusion for commuters
(if the ramp~ hadto ~eop~n prior to tltat time).
We request that as a Council you: provide direction to staff to continue discussions with Cal trans
for an "extension of the temporary closure i.mtil a decision is made on the .project." Thank you for
your consideration.
Re~pectfully su,bmitte~,
Alicia Lara ·

Re: Arroyo Grande City Council Meeting February 23, 2016-Brisco Road
We will be away an unable to attend tomorrow's meeting. The closure has made travel in both directions fluid and
safer.
Hopefully the ramp closure will become permanent.
