Background
Federal program that distributes funds to cities and counties.
Allocation of CDBG funds can be made for a variety of projects as long as one of the following National Objectives are
met:
Benefit low- and moderate-income persons;
Aid in the prevention or elimination of slums or blight; or
Address urgent community development needs that pose a serious or immediate
threat to public health or welfare.

2016 Grant
The County has confirmed that $76,563 in CDBG funds will be available to the City in the fall of 2016 ($2,570 increase from 2015).
The County will help the City administer the program.

Federal rules cap public service allocations at 15%.
No applications received for public services this year.

Recommended Funding

Public Facilities
$61,251 to improve ADA accessibility for the Woman’s Club Center.
Specific Improvements include:
Leveling the patio area;
Replacing 3 doors to allow for wheelchair access;
Constructing
ADA compliant van-accessible parking spaces in the parking lot; and
Providing ADA compliant pathways, including railing, signs and other necessary improvements.

Recommendation
It is recommended the City Council:
Adopt a Resolution approving projects to be funded with the City’s allocation of CDBG funds for the Year 2016 as presented; and
Adopt a Resolution
approving projects to be funded with the City’s Community Service Grant Program funds.
