Here is a mockup of the basket piece. It is proposed to be constructed out of copper and left to naturally weather. The piece will be affixed to a base, likely of granite, and be approximatley
2’-5’ tall. Basket piece will have diameter of 4’ and will represent a coiled basket, with cutouts and weldings to give it a three dimensional appearance.

The second art piece consists of a Village style bench with a bronze relief of Harriet Quimby, who lived in the City for a number of years and was so fond of the area that she referred
to it as her birthplace. Below the relief will be a short explanation of her relationship with the City and fame as a pilot.

Recommendation
The Arroyo Grande Public Art Panel recommends the City Council receive public input on the pieces and approve the art projects
