RESOLUTION NO. 2325
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE CITY COUNCIL
TO THE SAN LUJS OBJSfO COUNTY LOCAL AGENCY FORMATION
OOMMI&'>]ON PRO'fR>TlNG THE PROPOSED 88 ACHE ANNEXATION,
AND MAY OONSIDER A REDUCTION TO A 5 ACHE ANNEXATION TO
THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE, AS DBOC:RIDRD IN EXllIDIT A
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Cow\cil of the City of Arroyo Grande toot it hereby requests
and petitions the San Luis Obispo County Local Agency Formation Carmission to reduce the anneXfltion
area of the territory described in Exhibit A to the City of Arroyo Grande.
. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Council declares thllt:
The City is currently updating the iCfIeJ'al plan to detcnnine the City's uItinate boundar)' and
it Is undetcm1lned at this tlnl8 whether a major annexation such as the proposed 88 seres would be
included in the City's ultinate boundary;
The City cW'rently hils a policy of no major annexations, and the proposed 88 acre annexation
would constitute a major annexation.
The City does not, at this time, have adequate City services /lvai18ble for an annexation of the
proposed size;
The City presently hils water to support approximately 1,000 addltionallllits which would not
be sufficient to support a major annexation; and
- The City is cont!Crned about potential adverse envirormental impacts of the proposc<l 88 acre
annexation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Council declares thllt:
It may consider a reduction to a five (5) acre annexation for the following reason.'I:
The proposed five (5) acres is inhabitated with one single family hane, and no more than one
(1) additional single family hane would be pemitted by the City, after appropriate subdivision approval
WId improvements;
The five (5) acres appear to have services for the existing single family OOl5e and one
additional single fM1i.ly heme;
- A five (5) acre proposal does not have the environmental impacts that the proposed 88 acre
proposal oould have;
The five (5) acres would be contiguous to City streets; and
That there be NO water service.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of Arroyo Grande is hereby
- directed to file a certified copy of this resolution with the Executive Officer of the San Luis Obispo
CoW1ty Local Ageooy Foml8tjon Carrnission.
On motion of Council Member O~n, seconded by CoW1Cil Member &ruth, and on the following
roll c&ll vote, to wit:
A YES: Council Members O~n, Snith, Dougall, Moots and Mayor Millis
