eouncilman Lierly brought up the matt~r of having the Building
Inspeetor pass on the building permits without hav~ng to v~ait for
a C.ouncil A~eeting and after discussing the matter Councilman
'~ountree made a motionlseconded by Councilman Lierly to authorize .
the City Attorney to amend 4rdinanee # 47 to give the building
inspector power to allow the permits.
Councilman 8ountree brought up the matter of the accumulation
of garbage and trash in the rear of the business buildings and the
Couneil agreed the owners should be instructed to clean up their
premises.

Phillips gresiding. '
Upon roll call C.ouncilinen Schnyder~h7enny and Rountree
reported present.Absent ~ouncilman Lierly.
The minutes of the previous meeting ~rere read and approved
as read.
The comm~nications were read and placed on file.
lt~r ~'.B.~a'ilders reauest to cannect with the Citys sewer
line which runs across his ~roperty w~s discussed and it was
thought best to give the matter more study and it was to be
taken up at the next meeting.
The sewer line on ~~7hiteley and Poole Streets was discussed
and it was sug~ested th~.t b~Ir It~cCoy contact a contractor and get '
figures on the,:work to be done so the property owners could be
told about what it wouZd cost them to have the sewer line put in.
The request of the l~:aerchants Association for dia~onal park-
in~ was discussed and the City Attorney was to contaet the
Highway Patro2 and see wha'~ was being dQne in regard to that ,
and also to ~;et in toueh with Mr polliver and see if he could ,
be present at the next meetin~ and representatives from the
1~Rerchants Assoc. were asked to be present and hear the matter
d~scussed.
The resurfaein~ of ~"dest Branch Street was discussed and it
was suggested that l~qr Conrad contact R~Tr polliver and diseuss
the drainage there.
There being no bids in on ~he property advertised far sale
Mayor Phillips asked if anymne present ~ras here to bid .ari the
property and R2r~.D.A.Rowe replied that he was here to plac_e a
bid on behalf of Mr Ivan Loomis and ~'iss Ruth Paulding~
first bi~ on Parcel 2 w~s for $ 50.0~ which was refused ~nd
he asked if he might place another bid and was told he might
and his bid for $ 100.00 ~ras accepted upon a motion by Cou~cilman
Rountree~seconded b.~;~ Councilman Schnyder and he ~ave a check ~
for ~ 1~.OQ on the purchase~the balance te be paid when the
deeds were made.
Parcel # 1 was withdrawn as there were no bids on it.
~.~ayor Phillips appointed the following as members of the
new Planning ~ommi~sion,subject to the ar~proval of the Board:
~.Vard Loomis~R.l~~.Pennett~Don Shaffer~Claude Devereaux~Leo
Brisco and Guy Stewart. Councilman Sehnyder made a motion~
seconded by Car~ncilman Rountree to ~.ccept the m~mbers appointed
by I~~ayor Phillips.
Councilman I~ienny made a motion,seconded by Councilman Sehnyder
that Councilman Rountree work on the Planning ~ommission as the
member from the Council.
Couneilman Rountree was asked to get in t~ueh with the
members as to the best time for ~:'time for meeting and cantaet
Mr Conrad as to the best time suitable for him and then no~if3r ~ .

Councilman Sehnyder made a motion that l~ayor F~hilZip~ be
author~zed to sign the deed for the lot sold to Loomis and
Paulding.

Schnyder that ~~_r F.E.Menges be employed as ni~htwat~hman for 30
