November 1, 1950
The City Council met in regular session with Mayor Waiters
presiding. Upon roll call Councilmen Dixson, Clark, Dammann and
Conrad reported p~esent.
The minutes of the previous regular and special meetings were
read and approved as read.
Communications were read and placed on file.
The recommendation f~om the Arroyo Grande Planning Commission
relative to the annexation of the R¢sa, Taylor and Erennan property
was read and the Clerk was to get descriptions of the property so
Mr. Harris could prepare the papers for the notice of a hearing dtn
the annexation.
An application for a water meter on the Robison property south
of town for r.~r. James Lawler was discussed and a motion was made by
Councilman Dammann, seconded by Councilman Clark, to extend~the 2
inch pipe line and make the meter installation. I~otion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Dixson, seconded by Councilman
Dammann, to install a water meter to Ralph Beck, and he to under-
stand it was outside service. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Dammann, seconded by Council-
man Conrad, to accept Hart's resignation as Fire Chief . I~otion
carried.
Councilman Dammann then made a motion, seconded by Councilman
Clark, to appoint Jerry Pennett as Fire Chief. Motion carried.
Councilman Dammann moved, and Councilman Clark seconded, the
motion,to compensate the new Fire Chief $~5.00 per month comrcencing
November 1, 1950. T~tion carried.
I~r. Shumway asked what could be done with Alder St. in the
Mineau and Loomis Tract, and Councilman Dixson agreed to see Mr.
Baldwin about some gravel for the street.
Councilman Cor.rad moved and Councilman Dammann seconded the
motion, authorizing ~[r. B4cCoy to contact soneone to seal California
and Cherry Streets. Motion carried.
A Subdivision Ordinance was discussed, and a9~notion ~as made
by Councilman Conrad, sec~nded by Councilman Dixson, to refer the

County Subdivision Ordinance to the Arroyo Grande Planning Com- `'~y"
mission, and they be asked to get any other informat ion and make
a recommendation on an Ordinance. Motion carried.
D~ayor Waiters reported the Recreation Committee appointed by
the Harvest Festival Association aaas interested in making i~prove-
ments for recreation at the City Park. The Council was in favor
of the suggestion, but wished more information on the matter.
Mr . N!cCoy ~uas asked to get Mr . Conrad and to look over the
drainage situation on East Eranc~ St. by E. C. Loomis and Son,
and to report at the next meeting.
Bills against the General Fund for ~5,042.05i the Water Fund
for ~787.02= the t~~ater Depos~l~ ~.ind for ~8.00„ and the Capitai
Outlay ~.ind for ~6,000.00, were audited, approved°and ordered
paid.
No further business at this time e motion was made by Council-
h~?an Dixson, seconded by Councilman Conrad, to adjourn this meet-

The City Council met in an ad~ourned meeting, Mayor~?~aiters
presiding. Upon ro 11 call Councilmen Dixson, Dammann, and Conrad
reported present. Councilman Clark arrived later.
A communication from l~sr. Kofahl and Baxter was read relative
to extending a water' mair~ ~vest of Alder Street to their houses.
Councilman Clark was to investigate and inform Mr . Kofahl he was
to pay his portion of the 2 inch line which was laid on Alder Sl.
some ~ime back. Councilman Clark was to report at the next meeting.
Councilman Conrad was to check with ~r. Deal on the Budget.
Councilman Dixson was asked ~~hec~ on the asphalt tile for
the City Hall f lo~rs, and also check on using the present City
Hall Building.
Councilman Dammann was to check further on the air horn or
fire siren.
