RESOLUTION NO. 2266
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ARROYO GRANDE ADOPTING EMPLOYEE SALARIES AND
BENEFITS FOR CERTAIN MANAGEMENT POSITIONS
AND CONFIDENTIAL POSITIONS
The City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande does hereby resolve as follows:
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it to be in the best interest of the City to
provide employee salaries and benefits to certain Management and Confidential em-
ployee positions in various departments of the City of Arroyo Grande;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this resolution is effective from
November I, 1988, and continues for twelve months through October 31, 1989.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution supercedes expired Resolution
No, 2180 which terminated June 30. 1988.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that gro55 pay salaries will be as follows for a cer-
tain nine positions:
Public Works Director/City Engineer $ 4,161
Police Chief 4,130
Fire Chief 3,933
Finance Director 3,520
Planning Director 3,454
Parks & Recreation Director 3.182
Special Projects Engineer 2.955
P/W Facilities Services Director 2,955
Chief Building Inspector 2,955
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City will pay in behalf of these nine posi-
tions five (5%} of the total percent deducted for PERS retirement. Such benefit equals
the following monthly amounts for the nine positions at the time of adoption:
Public Works Director/City Engineer $ 201.48
Police Chief 199.92
Fire Chief 190.02
Finance Director 169.42
Planning Director 166.12
Parks & Recreation Director 152.52
Special Projects Engineer 141.16
P/W Facilities Services Director 141.16
Chief Building Inspector 141.16
In addition, the City will pay the same five of the total percent deducted for PERS
retirement for the following four Confidential employee positions. Such benefit
equals <Currently} the following monthly amounts:
Secretary to the C /ty Manager $ 99.90
Administrative Secretary (unfilled} --
Clerk Typist I (Two. currently} 67.23 (each}
City Clerk 90.02
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City will contribute an additional $40.00
each month toward the medical and other benefit plans established by the City, for
each of the nine Management and the four Confidential employee positions, at the
discretion of each position occupant. This Is in addition to the current City health
contribution of 100% of the employee only premiums plus $75.00 toward dependent
health protection.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that monthly auto allowances will continue to be
provided to the following two positions:
Planning Director $ 125.00
Parks & Recreation Director 125.00

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a uniform allowance will continue to be provided
to the following position, 9n a semi-annual basis: .
Police Chief $275.00 (approx. $45.83/month)
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that forty (40) hours per year will continue to be pro-
vided as Administrative Leave, to each of the nine Management and four Confidential em-
ployee positions, to compensate for excess hours above normal required for City business.
On motion of Council Member Johnson , seconded by Council Member Moots ,
and ~n the following roll call vote, to wit:
A YES: Council Members Johnson, Moots, Millis, Porter and Mayor Mankins
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted this 25th day of Oc tober , 1988.

I, NANCY A. DAVIS, City Clerk of the City of Arroyo Grande, County
of San Luis Obispo, State of California, do hereby certify under penalty
of perjury that the foregoing Resolution No. 2266 is a true, full and
