The City Council met in regular session with Mayor Waiters ~esiding.
Upon r~ll call Councilmen Dixson, Darrunann~ and Conra~d reported ~S esent.
Absent - Councilman Clark. '
The Minut~s of the previous regular meeting Here read and approved as
read.
Communicationa were read and taken care of as ~ollows:
1. i?n the letter from C. E. White for transfer of the Garb~ge
Franchise Mr. Harris said he would send do~m forms for Transfer
of Garb~ge Franchise and Bonds to be used in making application
for transfer.
2. The petition for curbs and gutters on Beech Street xas to be referred
to Mr. McCoy.
3. On the letter of resignation from Councilman Fred W. Clark
a motion was made by Councilman Damnann~ seconded by Councilma~
Dixson to accept the resignation and the clerk was asked to
write a letter to Mr. Clark.
Lt• The Clerk was asked to write Mr. A. H. Brazil that no work was
being done on the water lines to the Brisco Tract.
Mr. W. A. File r said he would like to introduce and recommend
Mr. James Purcall for Councilman to replace Mr. Fred Clark. Mayor

~djourned to another room to discuss the appointment. ~
When the Council reconvened a motion was made by Councilman Damnann,
seconded by Councilman Conrad to appoint rir. James Purcell to fill t~he
unexpired term of former Cou~cilman Clark. Motion carried.

~ppointed him Water Comanissioner and the Council I~embers approvmd
I~ the appointment.
Councilman Conrad made a motion th~t ~5080 be transferred from the
Traffic Safety Fund to the General ~ind, and ~9~t7•28 1x transferred
from the Motor Vehicle "In Lieu" ~ind to General F~nd- on vouchers
#1 and 2. Councilman Dammann seconded thc motion and the motion
carried.

On Motion of Councilman Conrad, seconded by Councilman Dammann the
foregoing resolution ~ras adopted by the following roll call vote:
AYESs Councilmen Waiters, Purcell, Dixson, Dammann, arid Conrad. '
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
Mr. Ryans request for a cab stand was discussed and after discussion
the request~ was denied and Councilman Damnann w~s asked. to notif~r
Mr. Ryan.
Chief of Poiice Stonesife r brought up the matter af moving the
Cross ~a,lk West of the Post Office and after discussion it was decided to
, hold the matter over until the next meeting.
A Motion was made by Councilman Damaann, seconded by Counci].man
Conrad to appoint C. E. White Poundmaster and Humane Officer.
Councilman Dixson suggested Mr. McCoy contact Mr. Essig and get an
option on the amount of material the City would be needing and Mr. Harris
agreed to draw up the papers when the information was ready.
~ The Clerk was instructmd to have Judge Eldridge make up a list of bail
for deposits~.
The Council agreed to take up the Subdivision Ordinance at the First
meeting in October and the Clerk was asked to advise Mr. Peterson to be
present. ~
A Motion was made by Councilman Dixson~ seconded by Cauncilman
Conritd to accept the Budget znd Mr. Deal was asked to make a report
each month.
A Motion was made by Councilman Dixson, seconded by Councilman
~ Conrad to ask the Planning Conmiission to make a study on widening af
Leedham Lane and Huebner Str~et and make a recoAnnendation back to the
City Council.
,A Motion by Councilma~ Conrad, seconded by Councilmzn Damnann to refer
the Streets of Major Importanc~ to the Planning Commission and the Clerk
was asked to call Mr. Dolliver and see what streets could be added and
, what streets be left off.
The l~ase for a light on the Bank Building was re ad and a motion
was made by Councilman Dammann, seconded by Councilman Conrad to accept
. the lease and the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to sign on behalf of
the citg. :

On Motion of Councilman Darinnann~ seconded by Councilman Conrad the
Proclama.tion Crusade for Freedom was adopted by the Cauncil.
Councilman Conrad reported on the meeting in San Luis Obispo of
Supervisors and City Officials and reported the Superv3.sors w~re
s~nxious to have the Cities contact them on any matters which they
thought could be strai.ghtened out.
It was suggasted by Councilman Dixson that the Planning Co~nission
be asked to cheek the streets xhich showed on maps but were not noFr
existing as streets and maybe they could be abandoned.
September 5- Bills against the C,eneral ~nd for ~ 3ia.16~ the
Water ~nd for ~1956.l~0, the Wa~ter Deposit ~nd for ~3~t• 0, and the
Capital Outla.y F1xnd for ~l 71.0 were audited~ approved and ordsred paid.
September 19 - Bills against the General F~ind for $1302.20, the Water
~ind for $ 60.$0 were audited, approved and ordered paid.
No further business ap~pearing and upon motion the meeting was
ad~ourned.

The minutes of the previous regualr meeting were read and approved as read.
Reports frcm the Chief of Police and Judge were read, approved and ordered
filed.
Councilman Dixson requested permission to leave the State and it was
moved and seconded te grant his request. •
Councilman Purcell said he w~uld 19.ke to recommend that the City Engineer
be authorized to make the survey for the 8 inch pipe line from the i~ew Well
on Halcyon Road and across the creek to Valley Road. The line to be lai.d~
