Minutes 1960-10-11 226 Arroyo Grande, Calif. October ll, 1960 The City Council met in zegular session with Ma.yor Burt presiding. Present were Councilmen Lee, Pence, Jacobs and Har~wig. The minutes of the September 27 and September~30, 1960 meetings were appraved as prepared. Correspondence was read from Mrs. C. H. Heidker qpposing the abar3donment or disposal of any portion of Arroyo Auenue. Mr. Harris was to contact the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph-Company concerning the agreement on improving and maintaining Walnut Street. Mr. Harris reported the Fire Department Mutual Aid Agreement was being deiayed until all Fire Departments had been contacted. RESOLUTION NO. 464 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY ~F ARROYO GRANDE, ~AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CANCELLATION OF GENERAL FUND WARRANT #214, DATED SEPTEMBER 13, 1960. On motion of Councilman Lee, seconded by Councilman Pence, and on the following roll call vote: AYES: Burt, Lee, Pence, Jacobs and Hartwig NOES: None ABSENT: None the foregoing Resolution was adopted this Ilth day of October, 1960. Bids for the sewer on Arroyo Avenue and Wilton Place were opened-and taken_under ~dV~~em~nt. The Council approved Mr. Harper's request to remove the dead trees on the 101 Frontage Road adjacent to 101 Motel, sub,ject to supervision of Mr. Anderson. The city would not participate in the cost of removing the trees. A request for re-zoning,property on Halcyon Road far a Ho~pi~al-Medical Center was received by the Council, and xeferred to the Planning Commission. The set back on the Adams property on Arroy'~ Avenue was taken under discussion. Mrs. Adams was advised to file a request for a variance with the Planning;Commission. Mr. Anderson was instruct~d to advise the Planning;Commission of the Council's feelings toward granting the variance. _ Gbuncilman Lee reported the paid Fireman requested-an increase in salaries comparable with the other City employees. No action was faken. Councilman Hartwig was to meet with Mr. Beck to discuss . the Halcyon Road situation by Wi11ow Park. Councilman Jacobs made a motion to approve employment of Anna Marsalek ta serve at the pleasure of the Council. Motion was seconded by Councilman Pence and all rnembers present voted AYE. Mr. Harris was granted permission to leave the State until the 22nd of November, 1960.
