The City Council met in regular session with Mayor Burt
presiding. Present were Councilmen Lee, Jacobs and Hartwig.
Absent was Councilman Pence.
The minutes of the regular meeting of November 28, 1961
and the adjourned meeting of Nvvember 30, 1961 wer~ apprvved
as prepared.
Judge G.S. Dana of the Fourth Judicial District Court
was granted permission to use the Council Chambers on January
19, 1962 at 8;00 p.m. for a meeting regarding law enforcement.
Mr. Jenks discussed the status of the overall sewer plan,
~h;~ aerial mapping, and the contract with the Federal Govern-:-
ment for advanced monies, with the Council. No decisien raas
made regarding the contract and it was to be held over until
the next Council meeting when the City Attorney would be ~
present.
The Council made no deci~ion on the alignment of Halcyon
Road.
Mr. Williford and Mr. Norman submitted the final map of
Tract ].75 for- approval and discussed the road improvement
requirements to the tract, with the Council.
A motion was made bq Councilman Jacobs, seconded by
Councilman Lee, that the final map of Tract 175 be accepted
by the City, subject to the following requirements:
l. The,proposed Fair ~aks Extension on the
north side of Tract be 40 feet.
2. That the said 40 feet roadway be fully
improved with conrete curb, gutter and
plant mix surfacing to conform to standard
80 foot street section.
3. That the 20' section of Fair 0aks Ave. ex-
tension from Halcyon Road to Subdivision
Tract No. 175 be dedicated to the City of
Arroyo Grande for street and utility purposes.
4. All improvements subject to the approval
of the City Attorney and City Engineer.
5. Final Signed tracings.

All members present voted 'tAqe". Absent Councilman Pence.
A motion was made by Councilman Hartwig, seconded by
Councilman Lee; tha~ the I960-6I Tax Assessment on property
owned by Arthur Garey be reduced by 4600 aasessed value as
the property had been wrongZy assessed by Clerical error.
ALl members present voted '•Aye"'. Absent Councilman Pence.
Mr. McLennan discussed preliminary plans for sewers
on Huasna Road and Tallq Ho Road with the Cauncil.

OF ARROY~:GRANDE ADOPTING AND SUBMSTTING A
BUDGET FOR EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS AyIACATED
FROM THE STATE HIGHWAY FUND TO CITIES.
On motion of Gouncilman Jacobs, seconded by Councilman
Hartwig, and by the following roll call vote:
AYES: Mayor Burt, Councilman Lee, Jacobs and Hartwig.
NOES: None
ABSENT. Councilman Pence
the foregoing Resolution was adopted this 12th day of December,
1961.
Addison Wc~od advised he had been requested by residents
of Willow Park to ask tt~e Council if there would be some method
of deeding the Park in Willoca Park to all of Tract 131, as
the residents of the tract were interested in having a
cocm~unity shelter installed on the site and landscaping the
surface area. It was to be discussed at a nneeting when the
City Attorney wouid be present.
Addison Wood requested the Gouncil determine what the
requirements would be to connect a subdivision outside the
easterly Citq Limits to the City Water system, and advise
him at a later date.
Gordan Bennett requested the'Council improve or close
the property between Al1en and Ch~.rry Ave. that was being
used for street purposes. Councilman Hartwig and Mr. Anderson
were to determine whafi could be done and report to the Council.
Mayor Burt appointed a Committee of Gouncilmen Hartwig,
Jacobs, and Lee ta make a study of the Planning Commission
and recommend to the Council at the next meeting.
A motion was made by.Councilman Lee, seconded by Councilman
Jacobs, that Billy Joe Allison be appointed as Police Patrolman
to serve at the pleasure of the Council, appointment to be
effective December 4, 1961. Ail members present voted t'Aye".
A motion was made by Councilman Lee, seconded by Councilman
Jacobs, that Councilman Hartwig be given pern~ission to be absent
from the Council meeting on December 26, 1961. All members
present vc>te~. "Aye~'.
A motion was made by Councilman Jacobs, seconded by
Councilman Hartwig, that warrants against the General Fund -
for $7,449.75, the Water Fund for $7,202.19 and the Water
Deposit E~.ind for $73.55 be approved and ordered paid. All
members present voted "Ayet~.
On motion of Councilman Jacobs, seconded by Councilm~an
Lee, Vouchers No. 22 thru Na. 26 were approved and ardered
transferred. All members present voted "Aye".
No further business appearing, the meeting adjourned
at 1~:00 p.m.
