'a1HEiti{;AS, there now exists, in the City of Arroyo
Grande, County of San Luis Obispo, State of California, a
street known as Branch Street, which said street is open on
its westerly end to the U.S. 101 Highway, and
~~i~I-IEREAS, the highway commission of the State of
California has indicated that the continued use of said street
by persons entering to and from the aforesaid state highway
or to and into the westerly portion of said Branch Street con-
stitutes a serious hazard in connection with public travel, both
on said Branch Street and on the aforesaid State Highway, and
l~I-IERliAS, it appears that the closing of the westerly
end of said Branch Street to through travel from the aforesaid
State Highway is desirable and in the best interests of the
public

of the City of !arroyo Grande that it intends to order that the
westerly end of Branch Street at its junction with the U.S.
1U1 Highway in the City of Arroyo Grande, County of ,San Luis
Obispo, State of California, be closed to public travel and that
access to the said westerly end of Branch Street be made possible
only by entrance at the Easterly end of the said street. Said
Council will hold a hearing in connection with said intention to
close the westerly entrance to the afcresaid Branch Street, which

said hearing will be held in the Council "hambers of the City
Council of the City of Arroyo Grande in the City Hall, City of
Arroyo Grande, County of San Luis Obispo, State of California,
at the hour of $ o'clock, P.P~i. on the 2nd day of April, 1947,
at which time and place all-persons interested in or objecting
to the proposed closing of this portion of the aforesaid street
may appear and be heard.
BE IT E'URTHER RiSOLVED that the City Clerk of the City
of Arroyo Grande shall cause a notice of this Resolution of in-
tention to order the closing of the aforesaid portion of said
street to be published in the Arroyo Grande Herald-Recorder, a
weekly newspaper published and circulated in the City of Arroyo
Grande, County of San Luis Obispo, State of California, at least
once prior to said hearing, and

be, and she is hereby ordered to provide for the posting of
notices of intention to close a portion of the aforesaid street
to be ;_osted conspicuously along the line of the street, or part
thereof, proposed to be closed, which said notices shall be posted
not more than three hundred feet apart, provided that in no
event shall less than three notices be posted. Said notices shall
be in form as follows, to-wit:

Notice is herewith given that the City Council of the
City of Arroyo ~'rande intends to close the westerly
entrance to Branch Street in the City of Arroyo Grande,
and particularly described as follows, to-wit:
The westerly end of Branch Street in the
City of arroyo Grande, County of San Luis
'Obispo, Mate of California, where the said
street makes a junction with the U.S. 101
Highway.
A resolution of intention so to do was passed by the
City Council on the l~t~- day of r'ebruary, 1947•

A hearing in connection with the proposed closing of
that portion of said street hereinabove described will
be held at the City Hall in the City of Arroyo Grande,
County of San Luis Obispo, State of California, on the

at which time those persons interested in or objecting
to the proposed closing may appear and be heard.XP
