~ AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ARROYO GRANDE AMENDING THE ARROYO GRANDE
,MUNICIPAL CODE BY AMENDING CHAPTER 4, TITLE 9.
, SECTION 2407 RELATING TO SIGNS

I THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE DOES ORDAIN AS

I FOLLOWS:

. SECTION I: That Section 9-4.2407 is amended as follows:

I Section 9-4.2407. Signs. Unless otherwise specifically provided -
~
I for in this code, no signs, including temporary banners, sandwich signs,
. "A" board signs, pedestal signs, streamers or pennants shall ',be permitted
i in any district, except the following:

; (a) Signs for the advertising of the sale of a subdivision may
I be disp1ayed on the site of the subdivision, upon the securing of a use permit
! for the erection of such signs.
1 (b) One real estate sign, not over five (5) square feet in area,
except on corner lots where a maximum of two (2) signs may be allowed,
i pertaining only to the sale or lease of the property upon which the sign is I".

. located, and disp1ayed only by the person owning the property, or his agent,
I
i except in any C, P-C. C-B-D, H-H. M or P-M District where said real estate
safe or lease signs not over thirty (30) square feet may be displayed upon
. securing a use permit.
t (c) Signs which are not appurtenant to any permitted use may be
! . allowed in any ~istrict upon the securing of a use permit for the erection
of such sign.
I (d) Public directional signs may be permitted off:site upon the
, approval of the Director of Planning.

I - (e) Temporary political signs, which may remain in use no more
, than sixty (60) days.,
- (f) No sign shall be located closer than four (4) feet to any
; property line.
- (9) No sign sha1J be placed In any public right of way.
SECT! ON 2: This Ordinance shall be, in full force and effect
thirty (30) days after its passage, and within fifteen (15) days after its
passage, it shall be published once, together with the names of the Council
Members voting thereon, in the Five Cities Times-Press-Recorder.
On motion of Council Member Hogan, seconded by Council Member
Vandeveer, and on the following roll call vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Vandeveer, Gallagher, Millis, Hogan, Mayor Smith
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
