Decisions and recommendations are not always shared or communicated, leading to frustration or an incomplete understanding of goals or processes. Quarterly meetings make it difficult to respond to “last minute” deals for advertising or other opportunities that arise between meetings 3 Proposed Revision Combine Advisory Board and Marketing Committee into one Advisory Board Amend bylaws to allow 3 – 9 members, 2 of which are owners of lodging businesses, if interested Other members are those with knowledge of tourism and/or the lodging industry Regular monthly meetings (replaces monthly Marketing Committee and quarterly Board meetings) 2/13/2018 4 Advantages More efficient operation of the Board Clarity of roles, goals and processes Ability to be responsive and nimble to opportunities 2/13/2018 5 Recommendation Adopt a Resolution revising the AGTBID Advisory Board By-Laws by expanding its allowable membership up to 9 members and substitute regular quarterly meetings for monthly meetings Appoint the 3 current AGTBID Advisory Board members and the 6 Tourism Marketing Committee members to constitute the new AGTBID Advisory Board 2/13/2018 6 2/14/2018 Questions 7
