RESOLUTION NO. 1981
A RESOLUTION OF THE Cl1Y OOUNCL OF THE Cl1Y OF
ARROYO GRANDE AUTI-lORIZING Cl1Y OF ARROYO GRANDE
PARTICIPATION IN THE OOASI"AL BRANCH OF THE Sl"ATE
WATER PROJECf ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACf REPORT.
WHEREAS, the City of Arroyo Grande adopt~d an Urban Water Management Plan for
Arroyo Grande on December 18, 1985; and
WHEREAS, such Urban Water Management Plan projects that the City of Arroyo Grande
will exhaust its municipal water sources near the turn of the century; and I
WHEREAS, the Urban Water Master Plan requests the County of San Luis Obispo to .J
conduct a study of the implementation of State Water Proje ct Coastal Branch for San Luis Obispo
County's full entidement; and J
WHEREAS, such a study is necessary to deteanine the engineering, economic, financial,
water quality and environmental aspects of this possible project; and
WHEREAS, the City of Arroyo Grande and its residents would not have adequate data on
which to base a decision to participate until conclusion of such study; and
WHEREAS, such study does not coamit the City of Arroyo Grande to participate in the
Coastal Branch of the State Water Project,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande
that the City of Arroyo Grandt shall participate in the Environmental Impact Rtport and Study of the
Coastal Branch of the State Water Project, to be conducted by the State of California, upon request of
the County of San Luis Obispo; and
BE IT FURTHERMORE RESOLVED that the City of Arroyo Grande wishes the study to
consider the ramifications for the City-of Arroyo Grande's possible participation in the Coastal Branch
of the State Water Project for delivery of 4,000 acte feet amwally.
On motion of Council.......m.er Moots, seconded by CounnlmHnher Johnson, and on the
following roll call vote, to wit:

the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted this 12th day of August, 1986.
