HONORARY PROCLAMATION
DECLARING MAY 2-8, 2021 AS
“PUBLIC SERVICE RECOGNITION WEEK”
WHEREAS, public servants at the city, county, state and federal levels perform work every day
to keep our communities running and thriving;
WHEREAS, many public servants, including police officers, firefighters, public works personnel,
building inspectors, border patrol officers, military personnel, health care professionals and
others, risk their lives each day in service to the people of the United States and around the world;
and
WHEREAS, public servants include administrators, managers, clerical personnel, planners,
engineers, information technology and recreation professionals, childcare providers, laborers,
social workers and countless other occupations, providing the diverse services needed by the
American people of their government with efficiency and integrity; and
WHEREAS, these public servants at each level ensure continuity of essential services to the
public while supporting a democracy that supports leadership by diverse and changing elected
officials.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that I, Caren Ray Russom, Mayor of the City of Arroyo
Grande, do hereby recognize and proclaim, May 2-8, 2021 as “PUBLIC SERVICE
RECOGNITION WEEK” in the City of Arroyo Grande, and urge and encourage all citizens to
recognize the accomplishments and contributions of government employees at all levels.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the
Seal of the City of Arroyo Grande to be affixed this 27th day of April 2021.
