To: Arroyo Grande City Council
Please be advised that Arroyo Grande in Bloom has consented to be
a partner in the Inclusive Elm Street Park playground replacement
project. We strongly support this project on the basis that it will not
only beautify Elm Street Park but will also provide an enhanced
play area for the children of the City of Arroyo Grande.
We will assist the selection and planting of garden materials that
will be native and drought tolerant as well as adding to the beauty of
the proposed area.
Sincerely,
Bob Lund, President

Subject:Item 11a - Elm Street Park Playground
Date:Monday, October 25, 2021 8:47:24 PM
Dear Mayor Caren Ray Russom and Arroyo Grande City Council:
I am writing to ask that you approve the proposed Inclusive Elm Street Park
Playground Replacement Project.
As we have learned over the last two years, parks are more important now than
ever before. The Elm Street Park Playground is in dire need of an upgrade. Not
only does the sand make it inaccessible for those with disabilities, but it allows for
debris and trash to accumulate. The playground equipment has some areas of
corrosion where children could cut themselves. The park is heavily utilized for
sports activities and an new playground would help keep the park active. Its
location near multiple high density residential units (many of which lack outdoor
space) is the perfect location for families to gather. In reviewing the playground
design, it seems to be a great compliment to other nearby parks.
Thank you to your staff for their hard work on bringing this to Council and thank
you for your consideration to improve our park and our community.
Respectfully,
Erin Wiggin

To whom it may concern:
Please approve the inclusive Elm Street Park playground improvement and replacement
proposal project! The entire park needs updating and it would really energize and activate the
neighborhood, not to mention the benefits for our children.
Thank you and best regards,
Lauren Ames
