STUDY SESSION s, OPEN SPACE ELEMENT
Planning Director Gallop noted that an interim Open Space Element
of the General Plan was being prepared and would be ready for Commission
review at their meeting of August: 15th. The element would be sketchy,
but satisfactory to meet the requirements of current legislation. Mr.
Gallop noted that in the final development of this particular element
he anticipated combining the Open Space Element with the newly required
"Conservation ", "Seismic", "Noise ", and the currently adopted Parks and
Recreation Element and the Beautification Element into one segment of
the General Plan, which would probably be known as the "Environmental
and Conservation Elements" of the General Plan, since all of these
various elements would be definite and direct cross referenced one to
the other.
After discussion, the Commission agreed to hold a special adjourned
session on August 29th for public hearing on the Open Space Element of
the General Plan.
