approved as prepared.
MONTEREY COUNTY PLANNING COUNCIL MEETING
Director Gallop reminded the Commission that this was the same date as
the "Congress for Community Progress" meeting. After discussion, the
Commission decided that those who could, would attend the local Congress
meeting rather than the Monterey meeting, and instructed the secretary to
write a letter of regrets to the Monterey County Planning Council.

After a brief discussion, the Commission requested that more information
be obtained in regards to the number of classes which would be involved and
the nights on which the classes would be held before making any decision,
REViEW - USE PERMIT CASE NO, 65 -56 - DON E. KEITH TRUCKING CO.
The Planning Director outlined past action, reminding the Commission that
the Use Permit was reviewed in July of 1967 with a six month review period
attached on approval, and also indicated there had been no material change
during the past six months on land uses in the area and recommended that the
case be reviewed again in another six months.
Mr. Al Browne, adjacent property owner interested in a golf course sub-
division development, was present and indicated no objections to the recom-
mended extension. After discussion by the Commission, on motion of

the Commission agreed to extend the use and review again in six months.
LIAISON TO CITY COUNCIL
Commissioner Smith reported on the last Council meeting in respect to
the action on the Lopez Road recommendation, and informed the Commission
that the Council had taken no action; that there were two persons that had
objected to the name change; and the Council had instructed City Administrator
Butch to contact the County Supervisors in regards to the recommendation, and
to request information as to the County's opinion on the matter,
Commissioner Smith also indicated that after Council discussion con-
cerning the joint study sessions on the new zoning map, it was his opinion
that the Council would sit in on the study sessions, but would prefer not
to make any recommendations until after the Commission had submitted a new
zoning map to them for their consideration.
