Planning Commission

September 19, 1967
The Planning Commissoon met in regular session with Vice Chairman Schultz
presiding. Prese�t are Commissioners D�vall, Moss, Porter, Smith and Strother.
Chairman McMillen is absent.
Also in attendance are Councilman Levine, City Administrator Butch,
Mayor Wood, Planning Director Gallop and Public Works Director Anderson.
MINUTE APPROVAL �
On motion of Commissioner Duvall, seconded by Commissioner Strother,
and unanimously carried, the minutes of the meeting of September 5th 1967 .
were approved as prepared.
LEAGUE OF CALIFORNIA CITIES AND/OR AMERICAN SOCIETY OF PLANNING OFFICIALS
GONFERENCES
Director Gallop explained that the budget had been set up for two members
of the Planning Commission to attend either the League of California Cities
Conference in October, or the National Planning Conference being conducted
by the American Society of Planning Officials in May of 1968 Director
Gallop stated he thought that the ASPO Conference would be far superior
in that �t is composed of outstanding planners and zoners from all over the
United States, and that it was not only a national conference, but an
intern�tional conference, and there are a number of foreign countries rep-
resented. Director Gallop stated that he had attended three of these
conferences in the past and they were very excellent, and covered all
aspects af planning.
After discussion by the Commission, and on motion of Commiss.ioner Smith,
se�onded by Commissioner Porter, and unanimously carried, two delegates of
the Com�ission would attend the American Society of Planning Officials Con-
ference in San Francisco, May 1968 It was decided by the Commission that
the delegates would be chosen at a later meeting.
VALLEJO ANTI-LITTER ORDINANCE
Director Gallop gave each Commission member a copy of the new Anti-
Litter Ordinan�e adopted by the City of Vallejo, stating this was one of
the toughest anti-litter ordinances he has seen and that it was quite in-
clusive.. He asked that the Commission members review this ordinance and
submit comments at a later time, He also stated that he has sent copies
to various other groups in the City and to City Attorney Ship�sey.; for:..
their..review comments.
Commis�ioner Moss asked if the City of Arroyo Grande had an Ordinance
against torn down vehicles stored in the front yard. City Administrator
Butch stated that this can become quite involved, in that the registered
owner of the vehicle must give his consent to towing the vehicle away, and
frequently the registered owner cannot be located. Director Gallop stated
this w�s covered in the Vallejo Anti-Litter Ordinance.
STREET PLANTERS
Commissioner Duvall stated he has received many very favorable
comments from people from out of town regarding the planters along the
streets in the City, and that most of them stated they would like to see
their own cities do this type of thing.
ZONING ORD9NANCE REVISION
Director Gallop distributed copies of the first revision of the pro-
posed Zoning Ordinance to the Commission, stating that a study session .
would be set shortlya

On motion of Commissioner Porter, seconded by C.ommoss.ioner Moss, and
unanimously carried, the study session was set over until after adjournment,
and any a.ction would be held over to the next Planning Commission meeting.
