REPOR°T ON USE PERMIT NO. 65-67 - 220 Traffic Way (Chris�tianson)
Chaizcman McNlillen inqu�.red as to whether �the staff had had a report
concerning Mr, Chr�.stianson''s compliance with the requirements of Use
Permit No, 65-67e Director Gallop informed the Commission thnt Mr, Chris-
�tianson had been inf�rmed of the Comms.ssion°s order of compliance by this
da#e� ascd tha� Mr. Anderson hnd met �rith Mro Christianson on F�iday, June
23xd, 1967, and had immedia�kely left on vacation and would not return un-
�til July 6�h and Airector Ga.11op was unubl.e to inform �he Commission of
the resul�ts of theiz� meeting and that the chain link fence had not been
ins#alled as af �this momen�t.
On motion af CoznmYSSione�� Moss, seconded by Commissioner Schultz,that
a recommendation be znade to ��he Gity Council #hat Use Permit No, 65-67 be
reuoked fox reascans of non-comp��.ance with the conditions set out by Resol-
utioan Na. 67-55 U�, the conditions t�ahich were accepted by Mr, Chris�tianson's
let�er �f May �.st� 1967, Follotivir_g �khe motion discuss;�on by Commission
members as iko `ahether �t�is actzon shou:Ld be taken dr,ze to the fact thnt
thexe was no� a repc��� from the Director of Publ.ic Wlorkso Director Gallop
al.so .in�ormed ��e �c�mm.iss�on that he fe1.t that another public hearing
would be.�requ�red be�ore �they cou�.d take such action since=the ordinance
requires that the Commission make a report to the City Council within five
days of the date of the public hearing when revocation is considered.
Chairman McMillen now called foz a vote on the above motion and the motion
was carried by a�hree to two vote. . '

Faced Free Stnnda.ng Sign at 1106 Grand Avenue, in a-C-1 Zone, Chairmnn
McMillen declared said hearing open,
Director Gallop reported to the Commission that the request was for
a free stand�ng sign fous by.eight feet with an eight foot clearance from
grnde, indi�ating no encxoach.ment and that the sign would be non-illumina-
ted and would replace a sign of the same s,ize which had been dest"royed,
bu� had only been approximately eight foot in height and supported by two
four-by-four posts,
Mre Buckley of' City Neon was present and indicated that the sign
could be raised if additional clearance �nras required by the Commission •
as ]iad been recommended by the staff, '['�ere were no protests to the re- '
ques� received, No further discussion for ox against the request, Chair-
man McMa.11en declared the �hearzng closed,

101 and Brisco Road in a RA-B3 Zone, Chairman McMillen declared said hear-

Director Gallop outlined the request and siibririt�ted� a sketch of the
proposed sign'and its �ocation. The Commission discussed the size of the
sign part�culnrly 1Ehe . clearance between the sign��,and grade'which, �'�from
t.he sketch, s�nd.ica�ed t�pproximately fmur foot cleardnce and the Coiumission
was concerned as to whether this would be a}iazard to the children. The �
° staff was unable to -answer the question=ds to whether this could be varied'

February and the'�Chairman indicated th'at he would make addi�tional appoint-
men�ts at a la"ter �date to complete the year,`
THROW-AWAY ADVERTISING DISCUSSION '.
Commissioner Sc}iul�z inquired as to v�rhether any corre�gondence from
the City.Attorney regarding throw-away adver�tising had been received and
Director Gallop advised that nothing had been received as of this date.
PUBLIC HEARING=Use Permst Case Noe 67-112 '
Father Marron representing St. Patrick's School is now present and
Chairman McMil.len reques�ed permission to reopen the,continued hearing
for Use Permit Case Noa 67-112, and permission wns granted.'
Father Marron was quiered as to the exdct size of the'sign and the
clearanc� between the sign nnd ground, Father Mar'ron indicated thcit they
had considered raissng the two piers which #he sign is mounted upon'and.
would have no objections �to clearance whi.ck�`might be required by the Com-
mission, There were no protes�ts to the request. `No further discussion
