November 15th, 1966
The Planning Commission met in xegular session with Chairman
Strother presiding. Pxesent were Commissioners Dexter, McMillen,Schultz
and Visser. Absenfi were Commissioners Duva,ll and Porter, Councilman
Levine and Mayor Wood were in attendance.
MINUTE APPROVAL
A motion was made by Ccmmissioner Schultz, seconded by Commissioner
McMillen that the minutes of the regular meeting of November lst, 1966,
be approved as prepared, Motion carried,
� ARCH. A.PPROVAL-LANDMARK MISSION,BAPTISZ' GHURCH-1212 Parrell Rd.
Director Gallop reviewed that at the regular meeting of November
lst, 1966, the Landmark Missionary Bap��ist Church was granted a six
months extension for Use Permit No. 65-69 and that Architectural Ap-
proval was not acted upon as there was no repxesentative of the Church
present. Dre Burnes, Mr, Nethe�rly and Mr, Rolainson, representing the
Church are now present and �hey advi.sed the educa�ion wing would be
built first, and a sanctuary with ca seating capacity of 320 would be
built later, with plans to expand the sana�[uary in the future to a
seating capacity of approximately 1000, As t�e parking area is suf-
ficient for the construction now being planx�ed, Chairman Strother re-
minded the church representatives i�a beax in znind that as additions
were made, additional o�£f-street parlcing ti,rould be required.
A motion was made by Cammiss3,onex McMil.len, seconded by Commis-
sioner Dexter, that Archi�ectuxa]. Apgroval be approved for the ele-
vations and plot plan as submitted,��or �he Landmark Missionary Bap-
tist Church at 1212 Farrell Road. Motioa carried.
PUBLIC HEARING-USE PERMIT CASE N0. 66�98 - 723 Grcnd Ave.(Nickeraon)
Upon being assured by Mr. Ga11op, Planning D�,rector, thnt the
Public Hearing for Use Permit Case No, 66-�98, William H. Nickerson,
to nllow for a Dry Cleaning Plant at�723 Grand Ave. in a C-1 Zone,
had been duly posted, published and property owners notified,.Chcir-
man Strother decicred the hearing open, Mr, Nickerson was present
and spoke in favor of �khe use being granted, advising that he planned
a small complete dry clean3z�g ua�t, that it would be mninly a call
office with customers doing theix atNxi pick up and delivery, but that
he would nlso operate a small pick up and delivery xoute. Director
Gallop advised that the Arroyo G�rande F�ire Chief has no objectiona to
the use, that the State Fi�e Marshall's�Of£ice mus�t approve the use
prior to a businesa license being issued, that there was sufficient
on and off street parking cxvailable and'�hat he felt this was a prop-
er use in a C-1 Zone, There were no protesta to the request received.
No further discussion for or againet the request, Chairman Strother
declared the hearing closed,
