The Planning Commission met in regular session with
Strother presiding. Present were Commissioners Duvall,
Visser, Absent were Commissioners Dexter and McMillen,
created by the resignation of Commissidner Mize has not
at this time, Councilmnn Levine was in attendance.

MINUTE APPROVAL
A motion was made by Commissioner Duvall, seconded by Commissioner
Visser that the minutes of the regular mee�ing of July 19th, 1966 be
approved as prepared.
CORRECTION TO RESOLUTION NO. 66-26 U(Peters)
Condition 6 of Resolution Noe 66-26 U was corrected to read "Not
to exceed 10 children per adult instructor at any one time nnd not
to exceed 2 instructors."
REVIEW-USE PERMIT NO. 32 - 110 E, Branch St. (Lindquist
Mr, Gallop, Planning Director, advised that Use Permit Noe 32
was originally granted on August 4th, 1964 and was reviewed on August
17th, 1965 with no violations being noted, and that a staff inspection
of the premises on July 27th, 1966, indicated a neat and orderly bus-
iness with no conflicts to the original conditions. A motion was
made by Commissioner Schultz, seconded by Commissioner Duvall, that
no further reviews be made of Conditional Use Permit No. 32 granted
Florence M, Lindquist on August 4th, 1964 to engage in a Antiques and
Use FS�Zrniture Business at 110 E. Branch Ste Motion carried,
RESPRESENTATIVE TO ATTEND STUDY SESSION-PROPOSED SUBDIVISION ORD
Chairman Strother designated Commissiorier Schultz to be the Plan-
ning Commission's representative at a Study Session on the Proposed
Subdivision Ordinance,in the Council Chambers, at 7:30 P.M, on August
17th, 1966.
LOT SPLIT COMMITTEE APPOINTMENT
Chairman Strother appointed himself, Mr. James Nicklas, Building
Inspector, and Commissioner Visser to serve as the Lot-Split Committee
of the Planning Commission. � �`..,
LIAISON TO CITY COUNCIL
Chairman Strother appointed Commissioner Dexter as liaison to
nttend City Council meetings and appointed Commissioners Schultz and
Duvall as alternates.
2 COMMISSIONERS TO ATTEND 68TH ANNUAL CONF. OF LEAGUE OF CALIF.CITIES
It was agreed that Commissioners Schultz and Duvall would attend
the 68th Annual Conference of the League of California Cities on
October 16-19 in San Diego, and that registrations be made in their
names.
RESOLUTION OF INTENT TO AMEND ORD.157 AND SET HEARING DATE (CBD)
Mr, Gallop, Planning Director, submitted copies of the proposed
Central Business District Resolution to the Planning Commission ad-
vising that the content was the same as they had previously studied
but had been now prepared in Resolution form and read the Resolution
through the title. A motion was made by Commissioner Duvall, seconded
by Commissioner Schultz, to dispense with reading the balance of said
Resolution. Motion unanimously carried,

PUBLIC HEARING-USE PERMIT CASE NO. 66-89 - 112 N Halcyon (Fissori-McNeil)
Upon being assured by Mr, Gallop, Planning Director, that Use
Permit Case Noe 66-89 of Ernest Fissori and Baird D, McNeil to allow
for the rental o� camping equipment at 112 N, Halcyon Road in a C-1
Zone, had been duly pos�ed, published and proper#y owners notified,
Chairman Strother decZared the hearing open, Mr, Gallop advised that
the applicants had indicated to him that the display area would be
landscaped and the parking area improved, Mr. McNeil and Mr Fissori
were present and spoke in favor of the use being granted, There were
no protests received, No further discussion �or �r against the request,
Chairman Strother declared the hear�ng closede

PUBLIC HEARING-USE PERMIT NOo66-90 - 112 N.Halcyon (Fissori-McNeil)
Upon being assured by Mr, Gallop, Planning Director, that Use
Permit Case No, 66-90 of Ernest Fissori and Baird D McNeil to allow
for the installation of a free standing sign at 112 N, Halcyon Road
in a C-1 Zone, had been duly posted, published and property owners
notified, Chairman Strother declared the henring open, Mr. Gallop,
advised the request was for a 3 x 12 foot sign, painted white with red
letters mounted on two four by four posts with a mnximum 11 foot,height,
non-illuminated, There were no protests received. No further dis-
cussion for or against the request, Chairman Strother de,clared the

CORRESPONDENCE REGARDING USE PERMIT NOe66087 U(PETERS)
Correspondence was received from Glenn E, P�ters and read a�oud
by Chairman Strother, requesting assurance that Condition No. 5 of
Resolution No, 66-26 U, 'PThe Green Belt area of the proper�y be open
for negotiation and that M�s, Peters be reques�ed to �ubmit �o the
City of Arroyo Grande a deed for the Green Belt creek areaoPO was a
request Only. The Planning Commission agreed Condition 5 was a
request only, and Chairman Strother instructed Mr, Gallop, Planning
Director to advise Mr, and Mrs, Peters nf this �dcto
STATE SIGN ROUTE 227
Chairman Strother advised that he had visited the State Division
of Highways and was informed that preliminary maps had been prepared
of three proposed routes for Sta�e Highway 227 from San Lu�s Obispo
to Arroyo Grande. Mr, Gallop notified the Commission that he and
Mr. Wise, of Hahn, Wise and Associates, would meet with the State and
would have a copy of the preliminary map at the study session on
August lOth, 1966 for �he Commission to review,
ADJOURNMENT TO EXECUTIVE SESSION
Mro Butch informed the Commission that the City Council had re-
quested the Planning Commission submit names for their consideration
for a replacement �or Commissioner Mize. A mo�ion was mnde by Com-
missioner Schultz, seconded by Commissioner Duvall tha# the Planning
Commission adjourn to an executive session at 8:20 PoMo Motion carried,
RECONVENE FROM EXECUTIVE SESSION
�he Planning Commission reconvened from Executive Session at
8:58 PoM, and Commissioners Duvall, Schultz, Visser and Chairman
Strother reported present.
LETTER OF APPRECIATION TO MRS, LOUANN WHITE
The Planning Commission members present unanimously agreed that
Chairman Strother write Mrs. Louann White a letter of appreciation for
her service to the Commis�ion during her four year employment with the
City of Arroyo Grande,
ADJOURNMENT
A motion was made by Commissio�er- Schultz, seconded by Commissioner
Visser, that the meeting be adjourned at 9:02 P.Mo to August lOth,1966
at 7:30 P.M, for a s�udy session for the Circulation and Pnrks and Recre-
ation Elements of the General Plan and requested thnt the Parks and
Recreation Commissian be notified a�nd be represented at the Study
Session, Motion Carried.
