Hi, Krista:You don't know me,but I just feel I got to know you online on"Corbett
Canyon Neighbors' My family&I have lived in Corbett Canyon for about 40 years
now,but now we're just 2 old people rumbling around on 2.5 acres in a 5 br house
that is in constant fix-it condition. One of us can still drive. (Will I die first or will I just
become unable to drive?) It gets lonely out here. I'm all for higher density housing.
We have plenty of room and even a big 2 level barn that could be converted to
housing for a family or at least a couple. The problem is that it costs money, lots of
money,to turn existing buildings into homes for humans. One of our neighbors has
"tenants"living in sheds. Another close property owner has maybe a half a dozen
families living in house trailers on his acreage. One well-known local artist has a
tenant living in an airstream. Another friend has a legal extra dwelling on his acreage,
but he's a millionaire with money to spend. I'd love to be able to contribute places to
live, but I can't afford to convert what I have to make it livable. I also can't afford to
move to a smaller place in town.Any suggestions for people like me,who live on
!'" agricultural zoned land,but aren't farmers?
