'Talley presid�ng. Presen°t were Comm�ssioners Evans McM�llex�
Schultz and Shaffer, Absent were �amm,�ss�.one�s Rondeau and
Strother. Counc�lman Wood �aas also prese�n�,

and $10,00 filing fee be required for the Laundry and Cleaning

HEARING - COND. USE PERMIT - Pac,�fic Tele, & Telegraph Company,
___ Chnirman Talley declared �the Conditional Use Permit reques°t
of Pacific Telephone and 'Telegraph Co. was duly publ�shed and
property owners notified and the hearing tn►as now opened and all
persons for or against the request would be hearde The Di�ector
of Public Works read the applica°t�on aloud. Mr, Sam Hedgpeth
representing Pacific 'T. and Z'. spoke in favor of °�he reques°t, No
further discussion for or agains°t �the reqv.est, Ghairman 'Talley
declared the hearing closed. A motion was made by Commx.ssioner
Shaffer, seconded by Commissioner Evans �that the Condi°t�onal Use
Permit request of Pac�fic Telephone and 'Telegraph Co. �o perm�°t
the construction of a build�ing additioii °�o ex�st�ng communications
equipment building on Lots 1 ana 2, Bl.ock 10, Western Addition be
approved subject to:
1. A property line radius be requ3.red a�t the intersec°�inn
of Rena ax�d Cornwal.l S°treet� and Halcyon Road and Corn�
wall Street to permit a-sidewa.lk area, and that side-
walks be required on H[alcyon Road, Cornwall Ave, and
Rena S°treet prior to' f�,nal �acceptance of buildinga
2, That on-site parking for employees in the building be
provided,

MOBILE HOME C.'OMMITTEE REPORT DISCUSSION
__ Committee Chairman S�rother vras no�t present bu�t the report
an a proposed ordinance prepared by °the Mobile 1rYome Committee wns
taken under discussion. A mo�tion aas made by Commissioner
McMillen that discussion of a proposed Mobile �-Iome Ordinance be
placed on the agenda of the joiat mee�ing to be held March 30th,
1965a Commissioner McMillen then withdrew the motion. A motion
was made by Coznmi.ssioner McMillen, s:econded by Commissioner
Rondeau that the matter of Mobile Homes be �turned over to Hahn
and Wise, Planning Consultants for information on a proposed ord-
inance. Motion carried,
STREET NAME DISCUSSION
. Commissioner Shaffer advised the Street Name Committee, con-
sisting of Committee Chairman Strother, Commissioners Shaffer and
Schultz, met on March 16th, 1965 and representa�tives from the
Police, Fire, Building and Pub1�.c Works Departments were present
and the st�eets listed in the report of March 12, 1965 from Jo.E,
Anderson, to the Arroyo Grande Planning Commission were taken
• under discussiona The recommenda�ions from the joint meeting are
as listed below and the action agreed upon by the Planning Com-
mission is shown in parenthesis:-:- --
la Brighton Ave. and Linda D��.ve - That Linda Drive be
continued westerly to North Elm Street and that
Brighton Ave. terminate at Elm Street, That Linda Drive
be renamed Linda Ave, .
(The recommendation be accepted wzth the exception
that Lindn Dri.ve remain Linda Drive.)
2. Leanna Dr�ve,.Luanna Drive and Launa Lane - That as
Luana Drive was an error in the street directory and
not an actual Street and there was sufficient clarity
between Leanna Drive and Launa Lane no action was taken,

5. Cypress Court and Cypress S�treet -� Tha�t Cypress Stree�
be renamed Edmands Ave,
(The recommendation be aecepted,)
6, Upper Y�Iuasna Road and Lower ��uasna Road - That d-�uasna
Roa.d be named Routzhan Road from Branch Street to the
City Limi°tsa Tha°t the Count:y be requested to continue
this name to the County Park
(It was agreed Branch S be the designation from
Grand Ave, to the City Limits.)
7. Spruce Street nnd Poplar Street - That a new name be
selected for that section of Poplar Street or Spruce
Street between Grand Ave, and Poplar Street.
(It was agreed the above designated section of street
be named Juniper Streete)
8e Newsom Springs Road - be named Branch Mill Road from
Cherry Avee to the City Limits and that the County be
requested to continue th�s s�treet name.

9, Cherry Lane - That the section of private road extending
westerly from Coach Road be named Cherry Ave. as a fut-
ure continuation of Cherry Ave,
(The recommendation be accepted,)
l0e Coach Road and Stage Caach Road - That Coach Road be re-
named Henry Road.
(The recommendation be accepted.)

(It was agreed the above designated alley be named

Newport Ave, - There are too many problems to be con-
sidered at this time, no action taken.

PeC. right-of-way between Cher�y Ave. and Allen S°��ee�
be named Railroad Ave. and that the existing Rnilroad
Ave, off of Mny Street be renamed
(The recommendation be accepted a.nd the existing
Railroad Ave. be renamed Paseo Street.)
A motion was made by Commissioner Sehultz, tha�t these changes of
street names be submitted to the City Councxl fo� their immediate

RENAMING OF 18th STREET - OAK PARK ROAD
Correspondence was received f�om Jane W�1ey svbm�tting the
name Erhart Boulevard as a proposal for renam.ing the 18th S°t.-
Oak Park Roada`' This letter was received February 26 1965 and
as the regular. meeting of March 2nd was not held due to the
lack of a quorum a copy of the letter was gxven to the Coi.xnty
of Snn Luis Obispo P.lnnning Commiss.iort as the rennming of this
street was being handled by them Commissioner Schultz request-
ed a thank you letter be wr�tten to Mrs, Wi:ley for her considerm
ation of �th3s matter,
HEARING DATE PROCED
A moti.on was made by Commissioner Shaffer, seconded by
Commissioner McMillen, that when�-an c�,ppl.ication was received that
required a hearing t.ime and date set, that a member of the staff
set the hearing time and date, if the City Attorney advised this
procedure would be legal. Motion carried.
