The Planning Commission me°t zn regulla�r session with Commiss�
ioner Shaffer presiding as Cha��man Pr.o-`�'em. Present were Counc�.lm
man Burt, Commissioners Evans McMsllera Rondeau, Schultz and
Strother. Absent was Chairman °Ta11ey.
MINUTE APPROVAL
A motion was made by Commissioner Strother, seconded by Comm
missioner Evans that the minutes of the regular meeting of August
18th, 1964 be approved as prepareclo Motion carried.
COND, USE PERMIT REQ, - Grand Ave; (Skidmore
A motion was made by Comm�ssioner S�trother, seconded by Com-
missioner McMillen �hat the Condi�tional Use Perm.�t request of Zack
Skidmore to continue to operate an nutomotive repair service in a
newly constructed buil.ding at 93.1 Grand Ave. be set for hearing at
7:45 PeMo September 15th� 1964. Motion carriedo
COND USE PERMIT REQo - Halcyon Road (Becker)
A motion was made by Comm�ssioner Strother, seconded by Com-
missioner Schultz tha� �the Conditional Use Permit request of Robert
Le Becker t�o allow the construction of a Medical Office Building
at 321 Soo Halcyon Road be set for hearing at 7:45 P,M, September

COND USE PERMIT REQ - Va.l.ley Road (Kel.ler)
A motion was made by Commissione� Strother seconded by Com-
missioner Schultz that �he Conditional Use Permit request of Thomas
J, and Katherine S. Keller �o allow a wax figure museum, restaurant,
bar, with st�orage buildings and caretaker�s �residence at the property
known as the "C" Parker House, Vall.ey Road be set for hearing at
7:45 P.Mo Sep 15th, 1964. Moti.on carried.
CALLAHAN COND. USE PERMIT REVIEW
The Director of Public Works adv.ised the Planning Commission
that the premises at 1354 Grand Aveo were inspected on August 28th,
1964 and the outside storage has been corrected. A motion was mnde
by Commissioner Strother, seconded by Commissioner Evans, that the
Condit�onal Use Permit of Henry Callahan granted August 20th, 1963,
be reviewed in six months from th�s date. Motion carriedo
KINNEY'S SHOE STORE - S igns (Architectural approval)
A request for two additionnl signs were submitted for the
Kinney Shoe Store a�t Williams Bros. Shopping Centero A letter
from City Neon was received and read explaining the request, A
motion was made by Commissioner Strother, seconded by Commissioner
McMillen, thnt the applicati.on as outl�ned in the letter for "an
additional 25 foot sign on the east end of the building" and "a
set of 24 inch metal letters on the west �aall of the store" be
npproved. Motion carri.ed.
COND USE PERMIT HEARING - Frontage Road Mees
The Direct�or of Public Wo.rks r.ead the Conditional Use Permit
request of Charles Mees. Ac�t,i,ng Chai.rman Shaffer declared the
request of Charl.es Mees was duly published and property owners
notified and the hearing was now opened and all persons for or
against the request would be heard, Charles Albaugh of City Neon
advised the sign would be a free s�anding, two sided, int�erior
lighted, p,lexi-glass sign placed to the best advantage so it would
not interfere w.ith �he Texaco sign. No further discussion for or

RELOCATION OF HIGHWAY 1 MEETING
Mre Bu�tch Ci°ty Administrator advised the Commiss�.on there
would be a no-host luncheon meet�.ng w�,th the Division of Highways
at 12:00 Noon Sep°tembex 17th, 1964, at Loweos Restaurant to discuss
preliminary studies of the reloca°t�on of Highway 1 and it was re-
quested members of the Planning Commissi.on nttend if a�t all possible,
JOINT MEETING WITH COUNCIL
The following items were suggested for the agenda for the
joint meeting with t}ze City Gouncil on September 29th, 1964 a°t
7:30 P,Mo: 1) more pay and shortex work�ng hours for the Planning
Commission, 2) that the City Attorney attend Planning Comm�ssion
Meetings and that 3) closer workxng arrangements beitween the Council
and the Commission be d�scussedo
