The Planning Commission met in regulaz session with Chcirman
Talley presiding. Present were Commissione�s Richardsori, Schultz,
Smith, Strother and Councilman �s�ood. Absent were Comraissioners
Hrisco, Evans, and Shaffer,
. NlINUTE APPROVAL
The minutes of the regular meeting of September 3, 1963 were
approved as prepared.
TREE PL�NTIIdG COT+�+�ITTEE REPORT
The preliminary ordinance regerding the planting of trees was
submitted to the Planning Commission for study. Commissioner
Shnffer is now present. A recommendation was presented from the
Committee that Indian Laurel (Ficus Nitida) trees be placed on
Branch Street in tubs, that AQagnolia Trees be placed in
the ground on Traffic i��ay and thet the Committee wished to meet
with property owners regarding trees on Grand Ave. The recommenda-
tion was held over to the next meeting. Briz. Butch was to obtain
more information on traes before the next meeti�g.
STREET NAME COA�ITTEE
.The Committee was notified that the County Planning Commission
requested a meeting with the Committee before names were chosen for
City s�reets thct extend into the County Area.
Commissioner Brisco is now present.
PARKING ORDINANCE
The preliminary ordinance regarding parking wns subaaitted to
the Planning Commission for study.
� REPIAME VIRGINIA COURT HEliRI1VG
Chairman Tnlley declared the hearing to rename Virginia Court
had been duly published and property owners notified and the hear-
ing was now opened cnd all persons for or against the proposal
would be heard. Bdrs. James Krovious said the majority of the prop-
erty owners on Virginin Court desired the-name�be changed to Virginia
Drive. Mo further discussion for or against the issue, Chairman
Talley declared the hearing closed. A motion was made by Commission-
er Brisco, seconded by Commissioner Schultz, thet the Plnnning
Comtnission recommend to the City Council that Virginio Court be re-
named to Virginia Drive. �Hotion carried.

A motion wns�made by Commissioner Shaffer, seconded by
Commissioner Schultz, that the meeting be adjourned at 8:05 P.AR.
