The City Council referred to the Plar_ning Commission corres-
pondence from the San Lsis Obispo Cou:ty �lanning Com�nissian ad-
vising that th.a County Arroya Gr2nde Vallzy M.aster Plan should He
adopted witr.in the present �isc�l y�ar, and as the County Commis-
sion desires to proce�d with the zoning �f �k'�a f;inge areas of
Arroya Grande, the request of the Council for zon�n3 within a
three r.►ile limit of Arroyo Grande City Limits had b�en place on
next ysar's project list. _
Coun.cilman Wood suggested the Pla�n.:�ing Commission take further
action regarding the Count.y Flanning Coml-*.�ission zon.ing within a
three mile ra�ius of the Arroyo Grande Cwty Limat:�_ B�ard of
Sup°rvisor Member Kenneth Schenck aclvised the Cit.� m�:�e a for.mal
request for emergency zoni;�g to be ir�szigazec�� A rc�oti.on was �r,ade
by Commissioner Shaffer, secondsd by Ccm��zssioner Bri�co,.that
the Planning Commission secret�.:ry write a letter to t�zP City Ad-
ministrator recommendirg the City Counr_il take further stePs urg-
ing the County to take more rapid action and suggestir.g a interim
ordinance be adop�ed to zone within a three mile radius of the

MINUTE APPROVAL
TY�.e minutes of the regular meeting of August 6th, 1963 were
approved as prepared.
HOME OCCUPATION REPORT
The Home O�cupation Committee submitted a preliminary ord-
inance, which was read aloud and discus�ed. A motion was made by
Commissioner Sh�.ffer, seconded b�r Ccr�r�.issioner Smith, that the
preliminary ordinance be su'Amitted to the City �1�min,istrator for
proper handZing and for proper legal wording, conformance to
City requirements, and clarification as to what constitutes a full
time occupation, as to the number of hours, etc., and what con-
stitutes home size equipment and could same be modified. Al1
members present voted "Aye".
TREE ORDINANCE 1�IIPORT
The City Administrator advised the Planning Commission the
City Attornr.y had submitted opinions regarding the proposed Tree
Planting Ordinance, and he recommendea no action be taken until
the opinions could be incorporated in}o th�e ordinance. Mr. Butch
was to meet with the Tree Planting Committee, and have the ord- ,
inance prepared for the mext regular meeting.

WCOD REZONING
Chairm�.n Talley declared the rezoning request of Addison
B. Wood was duly pub2ished and property owners notified and
the hearing was now opened and all persons for or against the
request vrould be heard. The Planning Cam.r.tission was advised
by Mr. Kraat� the pro�ert� to be rezone� was a portion of the
Master Pwa:� deve�ped for the Tab� Ranch and was not a numaered
tract at this time. No further discussion f.�r or against the
rezoning, Chairman Tal.ley declared tl�e hearing closed. A

1354 Grand Ave., as requested by Henry Callahan be granted,
said Permit to be reviewed July lst, 1964 or at the Planning
Commission Meeting nearest that date. A motion was made by
Commissioner Strother, seconded by Commissioner Shaffer, to
amend the motion of Commissioner Shaffer by including the
conditions that 1) all fabricating and inventory be confined
within the existing buildings and 2) there be no welding
done by occupant on the premises. On the motion to amend,
all members present voted "Aye". On the main motion as amend-
ed, all members present voted "Aye".
ROOKER LOT-SPL�.T
No. 35 - Requested by Kenneth J. Rooker to divide Lots 5,-7,
9,11,13, 15 and 17 of Beckett's Crown Hill Addition into three
58.33' lots. Due to the topography of the lots it was felt
additional information was necessary to determine if sidewalks
could be a condition of the lot-split. A motion was made by
Commissioner Brisco, seconded by Building Inspector Kinney,
that any decision on the lot-split be continuecl and Mr. Rooker
be requested to present plans for the development of the pro-
. perty. All Members present of the lot-split Committee voted

BENNIGSDORF LOT-SPLIT
No. 37 - Requested by Mrs. Florence Gullickson Bennigsdorf
to divide Lots 7,8,9, and 10, Block 3 of the Walnut Grove
Addition into 3 lots. A motion was made by Commissioner Brisco,
seconded by Building Inspector Kinney, that lot-split No. 37
be granted subject to the installation of curbs, gutters, and
sidewalks at the time of construction, and the construction
being set back to allow for East Cherry Street to be improved
as a 60' street in the future. All members present of the Lot-
Split Committee voted "Aye".
7TH DAY ADV. LOT-SPLIT
No. 40 - Requested by the Central California Conference
Association of the Seventh-day Adventists to d�:vide a portion
af Lot 107 of the Ranchos Corral de Piedra, Pismo and Bolsa de
Chemisal, lying between South Alpine Street and South Rena Street
into two parcels. A motion was made by Building Inspector
Kinney, seconded by Commissioner Brisco that Lot-split No. 40
be granted. All members present of the Lot-split Committee voted
"Aye " .
KILMINSTER LOT
No. 38 -�equested by Frank Kilminster to divide the portion of
Lot-split No. 40 with frontage on Rena Street into two 49 foot
lots. A motion was made by Commissioner Brisco, seconded by
Chairman Talley, that Lot-split No. 38 be granted. Al1 members
present of the Lot-split Committee voted "Aye".
SMITH LOT-SPLIT

No. 39 - Requested by Mrs. Gertrude A. Smith to divide a portion
of Lots 88 and 89 of the Jones Tract adjacent to Orchard Street
and P.C.R/w into three parcels. A motion was made by Commissioner
Brisco, seconded by Chairman Talley to postpone any decision on
Lot-split No. 39 until an on-site inspection of the property could
be made. All members present of the Lot-split Committee voted "Aye".
EAS'T CHERRY PLAN LINES
Councilman Wood was advised the East Cherry Street Plan Lines
had been referred to the City Director of Public Works for pre-

paratio�� of a plan to extend Cherry Street to Coach Road.
Commissioner Shaffer requested the City Attorney deter-
mine if an Ordinance can be made retroactive.

Commissioner Strother, that the meeting be adjourned at
10:30 P.M. All members present voted "Aye".
