The Planning Commission met in regul.ar session with Chairman
Talley presiding. Pre�ent wer� Commiss�one:s Evans, Richard�on,
Schultz, Shaffer, S�ith and Strother. Abseat were Commissioner Brisco
attd Councilman Wood.
TREE ON CROWN ST '
Correspondence was received from the_Hi�h School reqtie�sting the
tree on the north side of Crown Street be rer�+oved as it was a hazard
to school buses and to children playing. It was agreed. to delay any
decision until the next meeti*!.g, to give the Planning Com�nissioners
ime for an on-site review of the tree. �

COND. USE PERMIT - Lancaster
r. n erson rea . a report from t'.�� Bv.ild�_ng Inspector that .he
had reviewed th� C�nditional Use Permit granted R. N. Lancaster to
operate a light fabricating yard at 124€3 Grand Ave., in a C-1 district�
The report stated no complaints had beer. rP�eivPd on Mr, Lancasterfs
operation, and. that .Mr, Lancaster had. ir�for�?:ed. Mra Kinney storage
would be discontir_iied whex� �:he e:tisting lu.Tber had been disposed of.
A motion was.made by Com:�issioner Strother, seco►lded by Commissioner
Smith, that when T�Tr. I.ancaster advises thaf: his present operation at
1248 Grand Ave. is no longer in o��_ration, the existing Conditional
Use Permit be cancelled. All members present voted "Aye". Mr.Kinney
is ta d.etertnine frorn Mr. Lancaster the date - che operation will be dis-
continued and Mr. Anderson w�s to have the City Attorney advise the
Planning Commission regarding action necessary to terminate a Condit-
ional Use Permit. �
PLAN LINES - East Cherry • .
Mr. And.erson explained the necessity of improving East Cherry
Ave. and having plan lines establi�hed.at this time. The Planning
Commission agreed preliminary pZans should be prepared.for their -
review.and Mr. Anderson was requested.to have a study made.
HOME OCC. COMMITTEE
Commissioner Shaffer reported that the Home Occupation Co�nittee
had not had a meeting due to the absence of the Chairman and request-
ed any discussion be held over to the next meeting. Chairman Talley
suggested the Committee have a meeting as soon as the Chairman
returned and present a report at the nex� regular mee�ing.
TREE PLANT COMMITTEE
Commissioner Schultz reported for the Tree Planting Committe2
and advised a preii.�ninary ordinance ha�i been prenared and distributed
to-members of the City Council and the City Attorney. Com�►issioner
Schultz also advised there were nu.*:terous problems to be worked out
regarding the tree planting program and that the Ccramittee would
meet again and possibly present more recommendations for the Planning
Commissions review at the next meeting.
LOT N0. 34
Lot Split No. 34 was taken under d.iscussion. A motion was made
�by Mr. Kinney, seconded. by Chairman Talley that Lot Split No 34,
requested by Mrs. Pauline Yeary, for Lots I, 2 and 47, Block 26, to
be divided into twa parcels, of Beckett's Crown Hill Addition be
approved, subject to the instaLlation of concrete curb, gutter and
sidewalks on Crown Street, and entry to the garage be off of Le Point
Terrace at the upper end of the lower lot. All members present of
the Lot-Split Committee voted "Aye".
LOT-SPLIT NO. 35
Lot Split No. 35 was reviewed and discussed and it was agreed.
that the Committee meet on Julp I8th, Z963, for discussion and action
on the requ�st of Kenneth J. Rooker to divide Lots S to 18 inclusive.,
o� Block 27, of Beckett's Grown Hi�l Addition into six parcels.
.COND.USE - Attorney Opinion
Conumissioner Shaffer requested the City Attorney advise the
Planring Commission o� what action they would take when a Conditional
Use Pennit has been granted with conditions and. the use pe�mit had
not been made use of and the property owner requested. amendments be
made in the conditianai use permit to apply to other opera�Cions not
covered in the original request..

A motion was made by Commissioner Shaffer, seconded by Commiss-
ioner SchuZtz, tha.t the meeting be ad�ourned at 8:45 P.P�I. All members
present vated "Aye".
