The Planning Commission r�eet in regular session with Chairman
Talley presiding. Present were Commissioners Evans, Schultz, Shaffer,
sm�th, Str�ther and Councilman Wood. Absent•were Commissioners '
Brisco and Richardsan.
MINUTE APPROVAL •
The minutes of the regular rneeting of May 21st, 1963 were
approved as prepared.
LOT-SPLIT - Attorney 0 inion
Mr. Anderson advised that the City Attorney, Andrew David, said
that the Planning Commission could li.mit vehicular�access to property
with doulale frontage in conjunction with lot-splits and that lie would
suggest recording a map noting the restrictions, also recording a
copy of the Planning Commission minutes containing the restriction.
N1r. David would also submit a written report prior to the next
regular meeting.
Commissioner Richardson joined the Planning Commission at 7:42
P.M.
ORD. 157 RECOMM. AMENDMENT
A motion was made by Com� Shaffer, seconded by Commiss-
ioner Strother that a recommendation be made to the City Council�that
Sec. 6.2 and Sec. 6�3 of Ordinance lvo. 157,. be amended to apply to
the San Luis Obispo County Tax Assessment Roll at the same percentage
of value as now exists in these sections that are based on the City
of Arroyo Grande Tax Assessment Ro11,.Sec. 6.2 to read in part "One
and one-half times the assessed value as shown on the last equalized
County Tax Assessment and Seco b.3 to read in part "twice the
assessed value as shown on the last equalized County Tax Assessment
Roll". Al1 members present voted "Aye".
TR�E PLANT. REQUEST - Loomis
Mrs. Niaude Loomis requested permission to plant trees in the
sidewalk arEa from the Creek to the east side of their property on
Branch Street. itilrs. Virginia Strother, president.of the Womans Club
stated that the theme of the i�vomans Club was City Beautification tYiis
year and requested that a committee be formed to study the possibil-
ity of a tree planting program. After discussion, Chairman Talley
appointed a commi�tee of Commissioners Schultz, Richardson, Strother
and Mr. Anderson to make a study of tree planting in sidewalk areas�
in Cities in conjunction with the Womans Club.
POST OF'F. CONST.PLANS � �
The Planning Commission reviewed the plans €or the new Post
Office to be constructed on Traffic Way, and it was noted that two
fewer parking spaces were shown than was required by City Ordinance.

A motion was made by Commissioner Strother, seconded by Commiss-
ioner Shaffer, that the Planning Commissian recommend that the Post
Office Department leave two holes for street trees in the front side-
walk area, each hoZe to be a minimum of 27 inches in diameter. All
members present voted "Aye".
A motion was made by Commissioner Strother, seconded by Cominiss-
ioner Shaffer, that the Post office Plans be approved with the
recommendation that the parking spaces in the front be 10 x 20 feet
and that provisions be made for circulation of traffic, possibly by
eleminating one parking space next to the buildinc� on the north line
of parking spaces to provide access to driveways, said access to be
marked "EXIT". All mentbers present voted "Aye". -
POST OFF'. PLANS - Aesthetic Value
A motion was made by Commissioner Evans, seconded by Commiss-
ioner Strother, that the Post Office Building Plans be approved for
a�:sthetic value.. All members present voted "Aye".
HALCYON RD. TRAILER PARK ,

Halcyon Road was in the County and the City had no jurisdiction.over

A motion was made by Commissioner Smith, seconded by �ammission-
er Schultz, that the meeting be adjourned at 9;00 P.M. All members
present voted "Aye".
