A regular meeting of the Planning Commission was held
in the Council Room, City Hall, Tuesday July 18, 1961 at
7:30 p.m. � - � '
PRESENT: Mr. Brisco, Mr. Kithcart, Mr. Shaff�r, Mr.
Bennett, Mr. Evans
MINUTE APPROVAL
The minutes of the previous meeting were approved, as
each member of the Planning Commission received a copy.
VAR. REQUEST - Carmen (Rawleigh Products)
Mr. and Mrs. Carman requested permission for Rawleigh
Products to be sold from their home. There home is now
in a R-1 zone adjacent to a C-2 zone. The Planning
Commission has se�t the date of August 1, for a hearing
date on the variance applications presented-by Mr. and
Mrs. Carman.
PROPOSED STREET - McOsker
Mr. and Mrs. McOsker requested permission from the
Planning Commission to put a street through his property
to connect with Brighton. Mr. Evans made the motion
that Mr. McOsker could install a 60 foot street Southerly
from the proposed Brighton Aven ue if improvements and
Drainage are approved by the City Engineesr.

LEDO HEIGHTS TRACT
Mr. Evans ma e t e motion to approve the Ledo Heights
Subdivision subject to the payment of the tentative map
filing fee, conventional curbs, sidewalks, trees, adequate
sewage and reservation of area for ponding areas. Seconded
by Mr. Bennett.

TRAFFI WAY ,
RecommencTation to the City Council from the Planning
Commission: A motion by•Mr.�Evans �ecommending to the
City Council the relinquishment of the City's..interests
in that 20' strip of land on the East side of Traffic Way
acquired by the State of==Cal'ifornia�Division�of Highways, '
for road widening purposes, between the limits of Nelson
Street and the Pacific Coast Railroad, providing said 20'
strip of land is outside of the existing sidewalk areas.
TENT. & FINAL MAP APPROVAL
r. ison oo sugges ed the Planning Commission speed
up the process between the approval of the tentative and
final map. It would be appreciated by the subdividers.
FALL OUT SHELTERS
r. vans ma e a motion that approved underground fall-out •
shelters in the front set back area, be included in our
zoning ordinance, seconded by Mr. Shaffer.
