A RESOLUTfON OF THE PLANNING COMMISSiON OF THE
CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE INTERPRETING THAT A
"RESCUVATOR" IS AN ACCEPTABLE BACKUP POWER
SOURCE FOR ELEVATORS AS REQUIRED BY
DEVELOPMENT CODE SECTION 9-06-050 (C) (2)
WHEREAS, the Development Code was adopted by the City Councii on May 14,
1991, and became effective on June 13, 1991; and
WHEREAS, Section 9-06.050 (C) (2) of the Development Code provides the Planning
Commission with the authority to review alternative bacicup power sources for
elevators; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has received a request from the developers of
the Wyndham Residence, 222 South Elm Street, a 2-story residential care facility for
an interpretation to determine if a"ftescuvator" is an acceptable bacicup power for
elevators; and
WHEREAS, the Building and Fire Departments have reviewed the request and have
determined that the equipment meets the minimum State requirements, and that a
"Rescuvator" will provide an adequate emergency power source.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission of the City of
Arroyo Grande after due study and deliberation finds and hereby makes the
interpretation that a"Rescuvator" is determined to be an acceptable alternative
backup power source for elevators.
On a motion by Commissioner Rondeau, seconded by Commissioner Greene, and by
the following roll call vote, to wit:
AYES: Commissioners Haney, Rondeau, Greene and Chair Lubin
NOES: None
ABSEIVT: Commissioner Parker
