A RETAIL SALFS BUSINESS IS A PERMITTED USE, AT
143 SOUTH MASON STREET, IN THC OFFICE

WHEREAS, the Development Code was adopted by the City Council on May 14, 1991,
and became effective on June 13, 1991; and
WHEREAS, Section 9-01.110 (G)(3) of the Development Code provides the Planning
Commission with tl�e authority to clarify ambiguities in the Title; and
WI-IEREAS, Development Code Table 9-07.030-A lists uses permitted in the Office
Professional zone; and
WH�REAS, The Planning Commission has received a request for interpretation of
whether a retail business that sells herbal vinegars, herbs grown on tl�e property and gift items
can operate in tl�e Office Professional zone; and
WII�REAS, the Planning Commission, after due research and deliberation finds that:

The proposed use is similar to other uses permitted in tl�e Office Professional
zone.
The proposed use is no more objectionable than other uses permitted in the Office
Professional zone.
NOW, TIiEREFOR�, B� IT R�SOLV�D that the Planning Commission of the City
of Arroyo Grande hereby makes tl�e interpretation that the retail sales business descriUed above
is a permitted use in tl�e Of�ce Professional zone.
On motion of Commissioner Carr, seconded by Commissioner Tappan, and by the
following roll call vote, to wit:
AYTS: Commissioners Tappan, Carr and Chairperson Keen
NOES: Commissioner Deviny
ABSENT: Commissioners Soto and Hatcl�ett
the foregoing Resolution was adopted this 15th day of November, 1994.
