RESOLUTION NO. 93-1419
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING CONIMISSION OF
THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE PROVIDING AN
INTERPRETATION OF THE DEVELOPMENT CODE THAT
A WEDDING AND RECEPTION BUSINESS IS A
PERMITTED USE, SUBJECT TO ISSUANCE OF A
CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT, AT 756 MYRTLE STREET,
IN THE RURAL RESIDENTIAL (RR) ZONE
WHEREAS, the Development Code was adopted by the City Council on May 14, 1991,
and became effective on 7une 13, 1991; and
WHEREAS, Section 9-01.110 (G)(3) of the Development Code provides the Planning
Commission with the authority to clarify ambiguities in the Title; and
WHEREAS, Development Code Table 9-06.040-A lists uses permitted in residential
zones; and
WHEREAS, Table 9-06.040-A allows the Planning Commission to determine that a
proposed use is similar to, and no more objectionable than the uses identified in the table; and
WHEREAS, .The Planning Commission has received a request for interpretation of
whether an outdoor wedding and reception business can be operated as an accessory use in the
RR zone; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission, after due research and deliberation finds that:

The proposed use, an outdoor wedding and reception business, is similar to uses
permitted in the RR zone; and
The proposed use is no more objectionable than the uses identified in Table 9-
06.040-A.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission of the City
of Arroyo Grande hereby makes the interpretation that an outdoor wedding and reception
business is a permitted use in the RR zone subject to issuance of a Conditional Use Permit.
On motion by Commissioner Carr, seconded by Commissioner Tappan, and by the
following roll call vote to wit:
