PC R 90-1301RFSOLUTI�i NO. 90-1301 A RESOLUTIdN OF � PL�ING CX�lISSI�i OF R� CITY OF ARR�YO Gd�ANDE APPRCNING SIC�i PE1�lIT CA.SE NO. 89-96, APPLIID EC� SY J�1 'HAYASFII AT 620 C�AND AVIIV[JE (�YO PLAZA) F�t A PLAl�Il�D SIC�I PROC�tAM Wf�tFAS, the Planning Cormtission of the City of Arroyo Grande has considered an application for a Planned Sign Program to install signs at 620 Grand Avenue in the C-2 General Co�miercial District; and WI�2F�iS, the Planning Coannission has found that this project is consistent with the General Plan and the Erivironmental Docwnents associated therewith; and WF�S, the Plaiuzing Coa�mission has reviewed this project in carrrpliance with the California �hvironmental Quality Act (CEQA) and has determined that this project is exeqnpt per Section 15311 of the CflQ�, Guidelines; and W�FA.S, the Planning Carmnission finds, after due study, deliberation and public hearing, the following circwnstances exist: 1. The proposed signs are consistent with the intent and purpose of Section 9-4.2407 of the Zoning Ordinance as it relates to Planned Sign Programs because they meet the sign nLUnber and size requirements and are consistent with one another in design. Variance Case 1Vo. 90-149 was approved for mounting the signs on the roof. 2. 3. The signs are visually co�rpatible with the buildings they identify by the use of brown tone colors on the face and cabinet of the sign. Proposed signs cc�npleanent other existing or proposed signs on the site by using co�m►on design ele�nents, such as materials, colors, illtanination, sign type or shape; and 4. Proposed signs are campatible with surrounding land uses and do not obscure adjacent confornning signs. Wf�tEAS, this project was reviewed by the Planning Coamussion and various City departments and found to be acceptable and in conforrr�uzce with the applicable codes and ordinances. NC�1, Tf�'ORE, BE IT R�90LVED that the Planning CoQmussion of the City of Arroyo Grande does hereby approve said Sign Permit Case No. 89-96, subject to the following conditions: General Conditions 1. The applicant shall ascertain and cc�anply with all State, County and City requirements as are applicable to this project. 2. Development shall occur in substantial conformance with the plans presented to the Planning Carmussion at the meeting of July 17, 1990 and marked "Exhibit "A". � Planning Department Cariditio�s 3. Develop�ment shall conform with the C-2 zoning requireqnents, unless otherwise approved. 4. All existing signage, including murals, portable signs, painted and lighted signs, shall be removed prior to issuance of building permits for new signage. 5. All individual sign faces shall be constructed of ivory plex masked with translucent, rust brown vinyl #230-63. Letters shall be constructed by renwving the brown vinyl to expose the ivory plex. 2� 3�. Building Department Co�ditio�s 6.
